not really. i know what you're referring to cuz I've seen it happen once or twice but i always assumed it was my router that was weak. in any case i have 5GB data with Telus for $55 with 500 Minutes and nationwide my10 and callerID which is more than i need...
VPN - virtual private network allows you to get access from your LAN securely from any IP given the right credentials. Wiki it up.
Is it easy to do?
I'm running Windows Server 2003 for my file and domain server (mostly so that everyone in the family has a unified login and file experience across our 4 computers)
But even if it were doable, you're still limited to your ISP upload speed which is going to be slower than WiFi N
I too have this issue but it was able to connect to the open WiFi at the Virgin Mobile mall kiosk. They had some sort of SpeedTouch router/modem combo. As such, they told me to phone Customer Care (tech support department) and they'd help my setup my router properly (LOL yeah right!) otherwise I should take it to the store at Yonge-Dundas as they have a repair centre there.
As a workaround though, if you dial *#0011#, press the menu button, select WiFi, and then turn off WIFI Power Save Mode, it should connect fine and remain connected. The only issue though is that it'll likely make the display never sleep/timeout.
