    Microcell questions

    I plan to buy a used Microcell to improve the cell service in a warehouse that is about 5 miles from my business.
    My account is in my business name. I have several questions.

    1. When registering and activating the Microcell online, do I put in my billing address or the street location of the warehouse?

    2. If a 911 call is made via the Microcell, will the warehouse address register?

    3. Once registered and activated, if I move the Micorcell to a location inside the building where I get better
    coverage, but the Satellite signal is lost, will the Microcell still work?

    4. Is there any charge for activating and adding the Microcell to my account?

    5. Is there any charges to my account for employees sing the Microcell?

    1.) Use the street address for the warehouse
    2.) Yes, the address is both used for E911 and determining if the MCell is allowed to be used there.

    3.) It should work, I don't know about the construction of the warehouse. After the M-Cell is initialized at the address it shouldn't spend another 30 minutes figuring it out that its still at the same address. It might do a quick check, but that's it.

    4.) No
    5.) No, your employees will use their existing plan minutes, messaging and data allotments.
    Optional: The only additional charge is the $20/month for unlimited calling while on the M-Cell.

    You are also limited to ten users & their numbers have to be listed on the "manage microcell" page of your account.
    Because you are buying a used Microcell, make sure it is no longer registered the sellers account.

    I beg to differ, but the configuration page will allow up to 15 users and their numbers while there can only be only 4 simultaneous sessions.
    I assume that the latter means that up to 4 users/numbers can use the M-Cell simultaneously, that or it means that one person using both voice and data simultaneously will count as two sessions.

    I think it's four voice/text sessions. Data should be on wifi anyways. It only works for about 50 feet, however, so it may not work in that large of a space. You may want to consider a Wilson repeater.

    look to AT&T business solutions. they are working on or already have a solution involving multiple microcells in the same building such as a warehouse or office. if that doesn't work for you there is an building support dept that can quote you for a DAS or distributed antenna system. those run big money but ensure full service on every floor in every room. they may also have information on repeaters. talk to your business rep for more details
