Are you talking about a Windows machine? Some kind of mobile device? It's very unclear what exactly you're asking about.
Also, what version of the OS?

I'm not sure quite what happened, but all my screens for messages are extra wide and I have to constantly scroll. I'm not sure what got changed, but it's super annoying. Anyone know where in settings you adjust what kind of screen width you use?
Thanks!!

Windows or Mac shouldn't make any difference. I'm using the regular interface. I'm using OS X 10.7 "Lion" but it worked just fine prior to about a week ago. Now any messages are on a super wide screen that you have to scroll left and right to see what's in the message.
It makes a big difference. Mac OS X and Windows have very different interfaces from each other. They are organized differently, they behave differently, run different programs and have different feature sets.
This is Windows 7 (the latest version of Windows): http://dizzietech.files.wordpress.co.../10/win7_5.jpg
This is Windows XP (old but popular version): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ows_XP_SP3.png
This is the upcoming Windows 8 (due out later this year): http://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/...1/09/image.png
Mac OS X doesn't look like any of those. I haven't even mentioned all the different Linux interfaces.
Then you are not using "the regular interface" (no such thing) by any stretch of the imagination. Windows has almost 90% of the computer market, so it's the only OS that could perhaps be considered "the regular interface." The Mac has a relatively small market share, about 5%. You're using an interface that most computer users don't have and are unfamiliar with.I'm using OS X 10.7 "Lion"
Fortunately for you I happen to be a Mac user, but I'm on 10.6 Snow Leopard. It's unclear what you mean by "screens for messages," but for now I'll assume you mean an iMessage or Mail window got resized. To resize a window (what I think you're calling a screen, but "screen" actually refers to the entire viewable area of the display) on the Mac, click on the striped square in the bottom right of the window and drag it. Let go when the window is sized and shaped the way you want it. You could also click on the green circle near the top left of the window.
Did that help?

I'm really unclear why you think telling me about Windows 8 has anything to do with me. What I mean by "regular" is just bringing the message up on a regular non-mobile device and what Mac's share of the computing market doesn't have anything to do with my problem and my question. My question remains why all content on this message board has messages that require that you scroll left and right in order to see the whole message's content. There's a setting to adjust what displays I just am not sure what the setting is. Whether I have a Mac or PC is totally irrelevant.
Ahh! Now you finally made it much more clear what it is you're asking about. You see, your first post made me think you might be having screen resolution problems on some kind of computer, tablet, or phone, and that you were asking us how to find the screen resolution setting in your OS without telling us what OS you were running.
Then in your second post, you said "Windows or Mac shouldn't make any difference. I'm using the regular interface. I'm using OS X 10.7 'Lion' [...]" Because I don't know you (have seen very few of your posts) and because you said "the regular interface" (definite article "the" and the word "regular" which can mean many different things) it sounded like you were a computer novice who thought that all computers, regardless of OS, had the same interface except for a minority of people who decide to tinker with their computer and change its interface (without changing to a different OS). It sounded like you had somehow never seen a Windows machine (or never looked closely at one), had mostly been exposed to Macs, and thought that the Mac OS X interface you were looking at was what most people had on their computers. That would have also explained why a person might do what I mentioned in the previous paragraph. It would have been better to say "I'm not using a mobile device" but that was implied when you said "OS X."
It's clear now that the above paragraph is not true about you, but my point is that your first two posts in this thread did not clearly communicate what you intended. It was also unclear what sort of "messages" you were talking about. You could've been talking about an email client, an IM/SMS/Twitter client, or alert messages from some other kind of program. Very vague, and that vagueness was another thing that made it seem like you were a computer novice.
If it had been me writing this thread, I would have made the first post say something like "I use (browser name) and when I go to HowardForums the text and everything inside the window is so big that I have to keep scrolling left and right to see the whole post. It worked fine until about a week ago. How do I make the text normal size again?"
OR "I use Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and my browser window is now so small that I have to keep scrolling left and right to see the whole page. It was fine a week ago. How do I resize the window?"
OR "I use Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and my whole screen has looked wrong for about a week. I've got black bars on the top and bottom and everything looks stretched and too big, and I have to scroll a lot more in all my programs. How do I change the screen resolution?"
So, which of these three problems are you having? If it's the first one, which browser are you using?

I'm using Firefox 13.01 (with nags that it wants me to upgrade to 14.01)
Text size has not changed. What has changed is the width of the screen displayed. As I said previously in order to see the entire screen contents it is necessary to scroll right and left which is totally unacceptable.
I have no problems on other boards running the same board software. Only HF.
Ok, so the web page is not zoomed in and the screen resolution is fine. Is the browser window too small? Or is it a problem with the way the web page is being displayed within the browser window? Did you recently install (or update) any extensions or change any Firefox settings? Do you use Adblock or something that works similarly to it?
Showing us a picture of your screen would be very helpful. To take a screenshot of your entire screen, press command-shift-3. A PNG file will appear on your desktop. Reply to this thread in advanced mode, and you will be able to upload the picture as an attachment. Then we should see exactly what's going on.
I just give up.
I'm sure posting a screenshot would really help solve your issue..
Yes, that's what I was saying. My first sentence was directed at you and the second one at Telekom. Also, when I wrote "It's easy," I was referring to taking and posting a screenshot. I'm sorry if I didn't make those things clear. I'm a bit puzzled by your reply to me since I suggested taking a screenshot before you did.
