Okay well I will try to redo the rom. I will let you know what happens.
Cool, keep us posted.
So I did it. When I go to download apps from the play store, it just says downloading. It does not tell me how far along the download is. I have never seen this before. I have downloaded 2 apps so far but I had no idea how far along either of them were. Thoughts?
Edit, nevermind. It's working now. Strange.
I will install each app one by one and use the stock browser for now even though I like Dolphin HD way more.
Oh, I have also had problems with getting my yahoo mail notifications when I have a new email. Maybe this install will fix that but I never had any issues with my Optimus V. I only get the email when I actually log into my account. All the proper settings are checked too. I just hardly ever get a notification and if I do, it's like 20 min after the actual email is in my inbox.
Yeah, the store acts funny sometimes. I use Maxthon Browser. Not sure about the Yahoo Email issue. I use my ISP and Gmail only.
My phone just did the same thing again when I was surfing the net. The phone gets super slow and then the screen goes black and I can't turn it on unless I take out the battery. I am using the stock broswer. I'm really bummed I can't get my phone to work.
Now I just tried playing scramble with friends and the phone slowed down so much I had to reboot it. DAMN IT!!!!
Edit, just tried playing Song Pop and the phone slowed down again and now it's just stuck on play store not responding so I can force close or report but the screen is not responding to me touching either one.
WTF is going on?????!!!!!

I would probably flash the stock rom zip I posted earlier and call vm to get a replacement.. If it's within 30 days of purchase you can probably exchange it at the store for a brand new one.
So that's my only option? Many others have told me I do not need a new phone because the replacement will have the same issues. I bought it from Craigslist so I will have to go through VM for a replacement. Why does this rom work for others and not for me? Is there another rom I can try? I am following the directions to a T so it should be working fine.
I don't know. That is weird because mine works pretty flawless. But the only issue I had with the stock setup was the slow GPS lock. So I think its something to do with your phone. You don't know what the previous owner did to it before you got it.
I don't have any experience with other roms because I don't like messing with my phones that much, not after the Intercept Sprint PRL swap debacle. I didn't install this rom till it was confirmed that the GPS was working and everything else like HDMI out, and MMS.
How much memory is left on your phone? I know that they will act funny when the memory gets below a certain amount.
Edit:
Plus for someone to say that every Triumph is the same, is completely wrong. I've read so many different problems others have had. None are really the same except the GPS lock time. People returning multiple times to get a good one, some only once. I was lucky to get a good one right away.
Internal storage left on the phone is 738MB. It also takes a second or 2 to open an app. In some ways, it's worse than what I had before. At least this flashed rom lets me play draw something. Okay so I basically should just get a new phone right? Can I just restore this phone to factory defaults or do I need to use that file you gave me? Shouldn't I have the file already on my sd card? I followed this guide http://androidforums.com/triumph-all...a-triumph.html
and installed this rom
http://androidforums.com/triumph-all...7-15-12-a.html
so shouldn't I have that rom somewhere on my SD card? If not, no biggie, I will have to move the file into the folder like last time. Sucks that I will have to get a new phone but hopefully this will solve the problem.
I know it seems like a lot and can be overwhelming but there is plenty of support. I'll help you through it. But if VM sees a custom rom and a custom recovery on your phone when they receive it, they can void your warranty.
You'll have to place the files on your sd card. It can be in a folder or just on the card. Just make sure you can find it. Here's what you need to do to get your triumph back to 100% out of box.
- Put this file on your sd card. Flash this file using the same steps as with the sharp rom. Don't forget to wipe data and the cache. - Let it reboot
- Then put this file on your sd card. Flash this file the same way. This is your stock recovery. http://www.mediafire.com/?vsa994jw18x76eo
- Reboot and your back to 100% stock.
You need both these files on your sd and you flash each one individually. If you want to spend some time learning how to do more of this stuff, there is a great video on youtube. It takes you step by step on modding the triumph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PYlZ...ature=g-user-u
Okay thanks. My phone is also rooted so I will google on how to unroot the phone. What a pain in the butt this is. Of course I had to get the crappy Triumph and not a good working ones like others have. Are you sure trying out a different rom won't fix things?
Oh and do I need to delete my current rom file from my SD card?
Do I need to unzip that file?
So I use this guide right? http://androidforums.com/triumph-all...a-triumph.html
But in place of those I use the ones you gave me? Anyway you can idiot proof this for me. I need the step by step stuff or I will go bananas trying to figure it out.
When I downloaded that first file, a bunch of different folders came up like .., system, meta-inf, hidden data etc. Which one do I move to my SD card? I know I am a moron but learning this stuff is proving difficult for me.
I made a Nandroid backup before I installed the rom. I see that file when I boot in Clockwork and select restore. Can I just use that? I also remember doing this 9. You want to backup the file just in case, so rename it something like recovery.img.bu (You can call it whatever you want, just as long as you remember what it is) and that file is on my SD card. Do I still need to download the files you have here for me and put them on my SD card?
Should I try other roms first before getting a replacement phone?
One last thing, it's probably not a big deal but both of the times I have installed this rom, at the startup, it says virgin mobile while still on the Motorola symbol. So the sound comes before the actual image of VM. That's every time I turn the phone on or restart it.

- Your always welcome to try a different rom, in fact if your willing to I'd recommend it. At least with these files, you always have the option of going back to original stock.
- You can delete the current file you used for the Sharp rom from your sd if want. I'd back it up to your computer or something first in case you want it in the future.
- you don't need to unzip anything. The CWM recovery uses it as a zip folder to install. It says something like "install zip file from sd" when you install it from recovery
- yes using this guide, http://androidforums.com/triumph-all...a-triumph.html especially the section called "Installing a Custom ROM.". Seems more detailed instructions than the one I gave you.
- Yes use these 2 files in order. This one first http://www.mediafire.com/?zgp2i5svyhjdvcv , then this one http://www.mediafire.com/?vsa994jw18x76eo . But only when you need to go back to completely stock.
- About the first file, it should be in zip format and you move the zip file to the sd. If it isn't, you an use something like winzip 7 to zip it up. It should already be in zip format though.
- The nandriod backup should work for restoring the phone. But you will still need the stock recovery to install afterwards.
- Yeah I noticed the boot animation and the chime was out of sync on the Sharp rom. That's not a problem.
I hope I answered all your questions there. Basically if you wanna try other roms first, that is up to you. I won't be able to help you with them because I've never used any others. But it won't hurt to try them.
-
I am going to try other roms first. I will flash back to stock rom and then do a factory reset on the phone and then use the CWM to install a different rom. I will use my nandroid backup to get back to stock rom. Thanks for helping. I need to go back to stock rom before installing a new rom right?
**Update** I flashed back to stock rom and then did a factory reset of that stock rom. I am going to stay in stock for a day or so and see if I have any problems like I did before. If all goes well, I will reflash the rom I have on my phone. I still have CWM installed and the didn't erase anything off my SD card.
