    Oh okay. The phone has been working fine since I put it back to stock but I installed Titanium backup and it says it can't find the root so it won't work. Did I unroot the phone when I put it back to stock? Again, I am a newbie so I apologize if you are shaking your head at me right now. I am going to keep the stock rom for a day or 2 and if all goes well, I plan on flashing it to the rom I was using before. I should have restored to stock right when I got the phone but it looked like it already was but now I am starting all over so I will update you with any news. Is there a better rom out there than the one I was using? I would like to be able to play the Super NES games etc on my phone but I don't know how to do that. The Sharp rom has everything working on it while others have problems like the camera not working or the HDMI not working etc.

    I want to know if I should eventually upgrade to 2.3 or 4.0 etc

    Yes, you are unrooted because you flashed the stock rom. You will need to reroot, flash your nandroid (if you made it while rooted), or flash another custom rom, to get root back.

    I can't speak personally about any triumph roms, but from browsing android Central, xda, and android forums, there are a ton of them. Read through those threads and find the popular up to date ones and try them out.

    As for the snes, just give a Google for 'android snes emulator', you'll find everything you need.

    My plan is to re flash to the zip file already on my SD card and hope it works this time. I would only need to be rooted to get some of my apps back that I don't want to install all over again right?

    Don't sweat it. I'm happy to help with what I can. I'm not always the best at explaining stuff though. I had a lot of help from others in this forum learning how to do this stuff. I sat and waited and watched the developement of the Sharp rom because I wanted to make sure everything was working before I installed it.

    About the 2.3 and 4.0, I'm not sure about those. I don't think there is any actual releases of them that work on the Triumph. I'm pretty sure that themes of them are all you can do. But I could be wrong.

    My phone rebooted while waiting for Draw Something to load. I swear that game hates my phone.

    I just tried to install ESPN score center. The phone slowed down big time when installing it and the screen went black. After like 5 minutes, it installed. I opened the app and it got super slow and after about 5 min or so, it rebooted on me. The screen was unresponsive the whole time even when the force close, wait, report box came up. What in the world did I do to deserve this crappy phone?

    You might wanna try CM7. It's really fast and stable from my experience and it's based on 2.3. You also may want to try a task killer. I know most people dislike them but they're actually pretty useful.

    I am on 2.2.2 and I read that CM7 has problems like HDMI not working etc. I thought roms would fix any software issue with the phone but so far, mine is junk no matter what. I will try flashing it with the BSydz Sharp Triumph Froyo Deodexed Ver7 rom again and see what happens. I was advised to just get a replacement phone since I am under warranty and see if that works.

    Okay I think I see what your talking about. I've been playing draw something for a while and it plays fine but when you close it. The phone really bogs down. I haven't gotten any forces closes yet but it does slow down. I bet overclocking the processor is the answer. Just a guess though.

    At least you can load it. It rarely ever loads for me even when I had a custom rom. The only way I can get it to load is to reboot and open draw something right away when the phone boots back up. How do you explain draw something working perfectly on my Optimus V? That phone ran so much better than the Triumph. I barely had any problems with it.

    I am still confused as to why I can't fix this phone. From what I have read and been told, the Triumph has bad software and installing a new rom fixes that. So far, that is not the case with me. What is the difference between a good and bad triumph?

    I've been playing it for an hour. So I'm still going with you got a bad phone. Thanks for the heads up on the game, it's a fun one.

    I tend to agree. CM7/7.2 is pretty refined.

    to OP::
    Even if a few things are broken (hdmi out), it may be worth the trade off, to get a phone that can use apps and not lag out. If it sucks just flash back, to your latest nandroid (if you make one before flashing). Again if you go from froyo to cm7 GB, you can use ti backup to restore apps, but don't do restore data (for diagnostic reasons, and potential crash issues). Flashing the same rom over and over and having the same issues really isn't telling you anything. If you try a different rom that has good feedback and has a different base (2.3 miui or cm7), then have the same issues, then you can put the nail in the coffin.

    Something like atk (task killer), might be able to help find an issue, or at least break the lag. If it is an app issue. Say if it starts lagging, open killer and do a batch kill to see if it breaks the lag.

    ^^^Okay, I didn't understand most of that. There are so many different instructions and guide and roms that I really have no idea what to do. I installed the rom I have now because a user PMed me and gave me step by step instructions for the rom he was using. Again, I am BRAND NEW to this so a lot of this lingo is a foreign language to me. If I am going to install a different rom, I need STEP BY STEP instructions and upgrading from 2.2.2 to 2.3 or higher is something I also have no idea how to do. A lot of people skip a lot of steps when they post something and skip steps because they figure I know what I am doing.

    Flashing different rom is the same steps, just select a different rom to flash (which needs to be downloaded and saved in the same manner). It doesn't matter if the rom is 2.2 or 2.3. Miui and CM are just different well known groups that develop roms.

    My normal flashing routine:::

    • Download rom 'x' to your external SD card
    • Reboot into recovery
    • Backup current installation (nandroid)
    • Wipe data, system, cache, dalvik cache
    • Install from zip, pick the rom 'x" zip (some roms will require flashing google apps after this, it will tell you in the rom description if needed.)
    • Once done, wipe cache and dalvik cache again
    • Reboot system
    • Wait 10 minutes for everything to settle down, then reboot system (there are a ton of files being moved and created, ect.)
    • Log into google and setup your device

    **Again I don't recommend restoring App DATA with Ti backup, just the app if you need.

    Hope this helps.
