Usually, if a PC says "Device Not Recognized" it is due to drivers for the PC. Go to Samsung's website and download the latest drivers for your device. You may need to download Kies. (Actual program. Not AirKies)

Hi all,
When I attach my SII LTE to my desktop via USB cable instead of the USB icon appearing on the phone (tap it to connect) I get a message on my PC that says "Device Not Recognized."
There is no problem recharging the phone via the USB port.
I don't plug the phone in to the computer very often, except to transfer photos and refresh the music, so I don't know how long it's been a problem.
I DID unlock the phone about a month ago, but I don't recall if it was a problem before then.
Are my problems consistent with the phone being unlocked (I was with Rogers before). I have already tried reinstalling the drivers, without success.
Is there a fix?
Thanks in advance.

Still not working.
I downloaded the new release of Kies that came out today. When I plugged in the phone, it read that it was a Samsung and Kies started up; however, Kies gave the following message:
I am getting power through the USB connection, but no data. Also I am no longer seeing the USB Android icon in the screen tray at the top.Unsupported device alert
This device is not supported by Kies 2.0
Make sure that your device is supported and try again.
I have tried a few different cables and two different computers. Has anyone else had similar problems after unlocking their phone? I am trying to isolate the problem.
How did you unlock it? I used the code complements of ATT. Mine still connects fine.
If you are rooted and installed a custom ROM, that may be your issue. You may try a different ROM or reload the one you have (if original).
Just checked my Kies and updated to v. 2.3.2. Probably what you have now.
i had the same problem with my phone as well. it would charge no problem but it would never connect correctly at work. but it seemed that the micro usb cable i had was the issue. once i changed it, didnt have a problem.
For me, I had a similar problem. Except it would say it's connected, and then all of a sudden it would lose connection. But it would say it's charging as well.
For me, I think my phone wasn't getting enough power or something cause I had my phone connected through a USB hub. When I connected my phone directly to the computer, I had no more problems.
