On the website the device says 4G and when I put my zip in it says not covered - wasn't this also going to get Sprint 3G and LTE coverage? It seems to be just WiMax at this point.

Are you covered by Clear WiMAX? http://www.clear.com/coverage Given their wholesale agreement with Clearwire I suspect they desire to sell Clear WiMAX connection ahead of any other type but I could be wrong.

The newest iPod version is 3G / 4G WiMAX / 4G LTE. I'm not sure about the iPhone version, they stated they where also working on some kind of android type too.

I'm going to call them. The ipod on the website just says 4G which to me means Wimax.

It appears this is the 3G / WiMAX / LTE "Tri Band" version that was unveiled last summer, they won't sell you one unless you're in at least a WiMAX market.

You have to figure they're not going to manufacture an LTE capable device and not be able to access the network it should only be a matter of time.

This is what their Twitter people said. You're right that the case already must support it.

@TenaciousJim Right now we are on Clear's 4G WiMax, but we will soon have Sprint 3G/ 4G followed by LTE sometime late 3rd quarter.

Ahh it just won't connect to the LTE network.....yet. So they are saying sometime 3rd quarter before their customers can.
