Looking for recommendations on a good "candy bar" style phone for Pageplus

I'm going to switch from Sprint to the 12 plan at PP, could anyone recommend a good "candy bar" style phone that would work?

The HTC Droid Incredible is a candy bar style and is a very popular phone for PPC. Everything on the Incredible (except Vzw-specific apps, just like all phones) works on PPC with no modifications.

I've seen many recommend this phone, but recommend turning off the data to keep from going over the very limited data allowed on the 12 plan, is this correct? Also, is the Incredible 2 worth the extra money?

A blackberry bold 9650 running OS 5 is awesome. You wont have BIS or BBM but you will have text and MMS. Also the physical keyboard is a plus if your into that.
