I text my brother all the time(he is on rogers) and I don't see delays. We respond to each other in seconds. It might depend what city you're in maybe?

I am thinking of signing up with Wind and wanted to know what latency with texting on the Wind network is like. Some comments here indicate that texts take a while to get through? What kinds of delays if any are people experiencing?

I don't experience delays at all.
Never had any latency with SMS on wind
Sent from my Lumia 710 via the HowardForums WP7 App
I've texted with big3 and not experienced any delays. Have texted with mobiles in India and the UAE...again no delays.
If it helps, I'm in the GTA.

I've never had a problem. I regularly text people on various networks in Canada and the USA.

If you are referring to the initial send as in the time it takes for the text to show as "sent" then yes there is some latency I noticed. At least compared to the time it takes to show "sent" on the same phone now being used on Bell. After that I never experienced any delays either going to the recipient or getting a reply (provided the recipient replies right away at least)
To be highly non-technical: when I send a text on android the spinny thingy only spins for about 2 secs then goes throughhandcent sms is what i use btw

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
Don't expect to be sending any picture messages. Wind doesn't include picture messaging like mobi.

Textiing works but it's slow for me. I would say to expect a delay of few couple seconds to a minute or so when you send a text. That's just for the outgoing portion, never mind the incoming part on the other end. It's nothing major but not instant like other companies.
MMS sometimes there are delays (once upto 24hrs to be send to Rogers phone!)
SMS usually instant -- I also text to USA, DUBAI and IRAN and usually I get text back from them fast and that means they are receiving my text promptly
