BeCareful to those who currently on FnF $35 & $40 plan that are switching to new BTS?

if you are on the FnF plan or the old $40 plan, please be careful, you will gain the 30 Roaming Minutes by switching to new BTS. The BTS is actually a $45 plan with a $10 credit if you are paying by PAP by Credit Card, if your credit card falls off for what ever reason you are screwed because your plan will then be $45. Its too late for me because I have already made the change had I known this was the case, I wouldn't have switched because the old plan did not have a Mandatory Credit Card. I understand PAP is good for Business but its not a good idea from a consumer standpoint for a PrePaid Company because a lot of people don't have credit cards & on top of that they are marketing these as BTS plans towards students and not every student has a credit card. No Credit Card no $45 plan with a $10 credit. in my opinion its bad marketing.

In other words, if you were ever to stop pre-auth payments, the monthly rate will change to the full $45.

I did read the fine print but yeah seems like an unnecessary complication of a "for life" plan.
Have you called back to confirm this specifically?

This doesn't apply to the 25 dollar plan though, correct?

    Wrong. It does apply.

The best bet here is KEEP A CARD ON PAP but pay manually every month so the card is never charged. Even if your card expires, it can still be "on file", but make sure to pay manually!!

After the plan change I logged into self serve and it shows as $45 plan with a $10 credit if paying by credit card, if no credit card no $10 credit. Like you said what unnecessary complication for a life plan. What if one day you decide you want to give up your credit cards, what if you have declare bankruptcy. I so regret my plan change.

As I said even if you give up your card, as long as you pay MANUALLY 7 days before your bill is due, your card wont be charged. In fact they wont even know if your card is active or not.

If you dont plan on paying for the next cycle after declaring bankruptcy, then you lose FnF as well.

That's an unnecessary hassle, but that's the norm for Mobilicity. They make it hard for you to pay your bill. That's why I left, even though I'm getting less with Wind and was paying more, Wind just makes it easier to be a customer with them.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

Sounds like an easy way to get yourself double billed. Anyway, when I spoke with them today they said that any payment outside of the PAP would result in the promo expiring. I see how your idea of paying it in advance may work, but it could also cause a lot of headaches and/or expire the credit for the next cycle.

In other words you were being cheeky and it bit you in the ***. lol. The fine print said about PAP or PAD or else this deal is off. You went on with a CC only to take it off the second you got. Now you are getting back at mobilicity cuz you lost both your old and the new promo.

    Line 1: MMo45 for $30/M
    Line 2: Wish40 for $35/M
    Line 3: Wish40 for $35/M
    Line 4: Wish40 for $35/M

I have been doing this for the past 1.5 years and never got double billed. The only time I ever got double billed was when I clicked submit, the page worked but gave me an error and I refreshed. I paid $40 twice, which was adjusted in the next bill.

Its quite safe as far as I have tested.

You are (partly) wrong about how the credit works with PAP, it was explained to me by a CSR today, and that matches my experience with screwing around with my own 2OFF PAP and how I lost it in the past.

Basically, THERE MUST BE AN AUTOMATIC CHARGE to trigger the credit. Even if its only $1, that's enough.
But that MUST HAPPEN or you lose the promo. So if you say, apply your credits in advance to your fees, then you are going to mess yourself up.

I of course can't confirm this 100%, but I observed this behaviour with 2OFF when I had it (didn't get the $2 when I had my fees paid in advance), and this is what I was told today.

Thanks for the heads up guys! I was contemplating switching. Lucky I sat on the fence long enough.

So, what happens when a credit card expires and a new card is issued. The number stays the same but the expiry changes. Is the account still able to draw from the card based on the old credentials? My rogers account was set up on PAC so long ago I don't even remember when. I have never called to update the expiry date on the credit card. The payment keeps on going through. Same with the Toronto Star.

Some cards/banks have some kind of "PAP communication" thingumabob which I've seen mentioned from MC recently, but I actually dont know any details except that it carries over in this sort of situation. Personally, I would add a second card (or debit if need be) while I got the change done on the first card. Or probably add a second card AND call in to get them to make the change so they didnt mess it up.

I can confirm 100% that what I did so far worked with 2off. The rep is wrong.
