I bought an HTC EVO 4G and do not get Sprint here. I followed an extensive guide on rooting my phone (for multiple reasons other than PagePlus) and got this phone over to Page Plus just a few moments ago. I bought the 2,000 power text package and it works...half-***. I still have the old roaming triangle on my signal bars and shouldn't, since I'm in a well-working Page Plus area. Is this because I don't have a voice plan, or my signal is still somehow running on Sprint?
The main reason I ask is because texts that I send FROM the phone take a while, or don't ever send. But if I send a message TO the phone, it is delivered rather quickly. Did I do something wrong? All help is appreciated.
You may not have done anything wrong. I don't know how long it takes to send a message since I don't have another phone to test, but I know that sometimes it can take a while before I receive one from AT&T.
Even if you don't have to double dial, you should go on the page plus web site and check your balance to make sure you aren't being charged roaming charges. Others have reported roaming indicators on their phones when they weren't, I have seen it too. If you really aren't roaming ignore it. It might go away on it's own after a *228 option 1 or 2 from a different tower.
Did you try using a different SMS app. Some ROMs I've used the system SMS is fubared. Theres at least 2 or 3 free SMS apps I've used that work well. I'd also suggest freezing the obvious SMS processes 1st. So the new app has a clear path.
