Sprint TRIED to charge me an LTE fee

Upon upgrading to the Galaxy S3, my corporate store guy tried to charge me a $10 LTE fee. This would be in addition to my $40 SERO500 plan fee and the $10 Premium data fee. I told him this would be a deal breaker and if he insisted on charging me this bogus LTE fee, I would walk and not buy the new phone. I was in no way going to lose my SERO500 plan. Alas, he punched in a different code and voila, I was able to keep my SERO plan without any "LTE" fee. The lesson here is that there is NO LTE fee out there. There is no additional charge to purchase an LTE phone. Don't be fooled!

I've never heard of a "$10 LTE fee", do you think this is something they are using to target old SERO accounts?

a lot of the corp store guys have no clue how to properly handle SERO accounts. I call all of my phone swaps in and have had a pretty easy time so far.

I've never had a problem with a corporate store and my SERO account. I specifically go to a corporate store because of this. He said (after a call to customer care) that the so-called LTE fee was in addition to the premium data fee. I'm glad I prevailed because I was prepared to walk. A second call to and a second code from customer care took care of the issue. Aleki, I wasn't swapping phones. I was renewing my contract and purchasing a new phone. I was replacing my EVO with the SIII. When I swap phones, I just use the web portal and have no issues.
