Hi. I have bought a phone from Verizon about 1 year ago. It turns out that the phone sucks and I've been having problems with it ever since I first got it. It is the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. Anyways, the wireless on it is now shot, along with its SD Card. I was considering buying a new phone, the Droid X, with no plan. Just the phone alone. I was wondering that, if I put the Play's SIM Card into the Droid X's SIM slot, would the phone work on the Verizon network, under my same number? Please reply quickly.
Thanks in advance,
mjkaufer
Neither of those phones use a SIM card.
The only Verizon phones that use a SIM domestically are LTE devices, or a world phone while traveling internationally.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

It's not a matter of if you win or lose, it's how you assign the blame
So if I were to try to switch the Droid X with the Play, how would I go about doing so? Would I have to go to the Verizon store and change things out? My dad had a Droid Bionic which broke so Verizon sent him a new one and he said that to get the other one running, he changed the SIM card out. So again, is there anything that would transfer my number and access to the Verizon network from the Play to the Droid X? I would like to know before purchasing a new phone. I guess the Bionic had SIM cards because they are LTEs.
I think you are confusing memory cards and LTE SIM cards. They are not the same thing. The Droid X uses a micro-SD memory card, but not an LTE SIM card.
Your dad's Droid Bionic is an LTE device and does use an LTE SIM card and has a slot for a micro-SD memory card.
I want to figure out how to activate my Droid X under my Play's Verizon account for free, though. There should be some way I could switch something around.
You can go onto the Verizon website and log in to your account to do that. No fee required. Heck you can activate the Droid by resetting the phone and clicking activate
