Hi all,
I recently got T-Mobile monthyl prepaid connection for my Galaxy S3 and was extremely disappointed with its download/upload speed. I have taken the new scheme with a data plan where first 5 GB data is 4G LTE and THEN it is slow but I am seeing slow speeds from Day1 itself.
Plan details here (I've 30 bucks 'unlimited' data one):
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/monthly-4g-plans
SpeedTest shows 60-70Kbps download and upload speed. I'm sure 4G LTE should be faster than that!
Is someone else also facing this ? I will call TMobile support as well but just wanted to poll the group if someone else also faced the similar problem.
Thanks
Amit

OK, I get it. I am wrong in using LTE jargon when TMobile doesn't support it yet. But even with 4G HSPA or whatever you can call it "Mr Smart Guys", do you think getting download speed of 100 Kbps is even close to normal ?
If you don't have anything constructive to share with the forum, why bother to waste your time writing posts like these.
For what it's worth - "your" TMobile accepted this as a problem with one of "your" towers and "your" engineers are getting it fixed as I write this!
I will share the update with the forum once this problem is resolved.
I had asked the ques to know if there is some setting in Galaxy S3 which would cause this or if anyone else faced problem like this.
Finally, How about you seeing this video and checking download speed of "your" network ? I believe face palm could be the best icon here!

My comment has nothing to do with the branding of 3G or 4G. It has to do with the OP stating tmo's "LTE" sucks. It amazes me how many rants I read about tmo and half the time the customer doesn't know what he/she is talking about, or gives only one-sided posts.
If you are going to rant about something, get all the facts correct, or you are just begging to be called out.
Here's something constructive, before you start bashing the internet speeds. How about you post something like this after mentioning you called in to customer service and we tried to troubleshoot the issue, after a service request has been placed (if needed). Maybe you should've asked if there was something you might have done to cause the slow internet instead of bashing the network, then ask if anyone else had the same problem.![]()
