If you don't keep the line, you need to return the phone. If you don't keep the line, but keep the phone, then they will charge you the difference between the subsidized price and the retail price.

Hypothetically if I got the S3 from Verizon from Walmart on a 15 day trial plan, and decided not to keep it what happens to the phone? Do I get to keep the phone or will I be billed for it or do I have to return it to Walmart? Does anyone know?
I apologize if this question has been asked before or something similar to it's nature.
and I appreciate your time and consultation.
If you don't keep the line, you need to return the phone. If you don't keep the line, but keep the phone, then they will charge you the difference between the subsidized price and the retail price.
Well, as long as you are looking for a retailer to scam, I appreciate that you've done the decent thing and chosen WalMart.
You could buy the phone subsidized on a 2 year contract, then immediately cancel the credit card you used to buy it, then when WalMart tried to recoup the $400 difference, they would be stuck, and your scam would come off without a hitch. Except for your credit report, of course.
Low price, Excellent Service, High Quality. Pick any two, but you never get all three.
Thank you Rush Bimbaugh for that completely unhelpful post. NOWHERE in his post did he say he was trying to scam anyone, you need to stop being just an obnoxious, well, I can't say it here.
Jseah answered it correctly, so let's move on and not turn this into a Spanish Inquisition. If we do, these guys may just pop in-

LOL, no.. it's actually something my dad asked me to ask on this forum. He is so scared to buy a new phone because he is thinks he might not like the service charges per month for AT&T. He currently has Verizon and is way overdue for a phone upgrade. He really has his eye on the S3 and is considering the Straight Talk BYOD plan , but I keep telling him that if he gets the S3 from Verizon he won't be able to bring it to the Straight Talk plan because from what I understand, you can't, unless there is some knowledge I lack. One is CDMA and the other GSM. I really wish they would release the technology/ability to bridge the gap between these 2 systems so that phones would be a bit more versatile... but I guess that is also a major part of the carrier providers marketing scheme as well as some other things. Anyways, I appreciate the feedback. And no my father's intentions are not to scam a phone company or Walmart out of a new phone. He is just really indecisive of what he wants to do, keep his Verizon contract and upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and be overcharged by Verizon for his monthly services or go the cheap way and get a prepaid plan... He is early in his retirement years and is budgeting himself alot more these days... as most of are in this economy!
The feedback was greatly appreciated.![]()
If canceling a two week trial allowed one to keep the phone, everyone would be doing it to get their hands on a free phone. If Dad wasn't aware that it is obvious that canceling the trial meant returning the phone and probably paying some usage charges, activation charges and perhaps restocking charges, then he might not be aware of a lot of the subtle differences between Straight Talk and a Verizon service plan. Look carefully into the coverage maps. The Straight Talk coverage for Android is pathetic. ST may have roaming charges where VZW doesn't. There could be roaming charges on data and minutes. Or the damn phone just may not work at all outside the extremely limited coverage area for ST. If you want a phone that works around the house, stick with a landline. If you want a phone that works wherever you go, get a provider with decent coverage. Straight Talk isn't one of them
There are actually new "return controls" that are used. Not sure if walmart has them but we do. When the device is returned its processed in the system. Customer service isn't supposed to cancel a new line unless it shows the equipment has already been returned.
