Step by Step for fix and baseband unlock...maybe you can follow it better

Step 1. Open Redsn0w 0.9.12b2 with Admin priv. and choose Extras>Select IPSW, then select the stock 5.1.1 ipsw, next choose Custom IPSW and create a NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw. Put phone into pwnDFU mode, open iTunes and shift + restore and choose the NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw you created to restore. Save the NO_BB ipsw for later. Do not fret the state the phone is in just be patient and follow the steps.

Step 2. Open Redsn0w 0.9.12b2 with Admin priv. and choose Extras>Select IPSW, then select the stock 5.1.1 ipsw, next hit back and then choose Jailbreak, put phone into pwnDFU, then uncheck install Cydia and check only install iPad baseband.

Step 3. Put phone into pwnDFU, open iTunes and shift + restore using the NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw

Step 4. Open Redsn0w 0.9.14b2 with Admin priv. and choose Jailbreak, put phone into pwnDFU, then uncheck install Cydia and only check Downgrade from iPad baseband.

Step 5. Put phone into pwnDFU, open iTunes and shift + restore using the NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw

Step 6. Open Redsn0w 0.9.12b2 with Admin priv. and choose Jailbreak, put phone into pwnDFU, then only check install Cydia. You're now jailbroken and hacktivated.

Step 7. Connect to Wifi then open Cydia and choose User, then choose Complete Upgrade.

Step 8. Open Cydia>Manage>Sources hit edit and add repo source: http://repo.bingner.com hit add source, then search Cydia for SAM and install, then close Cydia. Open SAMpref and hit Revert Lockdownd to Stock, next in SAM hit De-Activate iPhone, then connect the phone to iTunes and activate, open SAMpref and under utilities hit Backup activation and then hit Restore activation, next reboot the phone and sync with iTunes. You should now have working Youtube, push notifications, and iMessage.

Step 9. Open Cydia and search for Ultrasn0w, make sure you're only installing version 1.2.7 and reboot. You're now unlocked.

Step 10. If you need Tmobile MMS working you can open Cydia>Manage>Sources hit edit and add repo source: http://v.backspace.jp/repo hit add source, then search Cydia for CommCenter patch for IOS 5 and install or just search for and install TetherMe which does the same thing plus provide tethering without a tethering plan from your carrier. The CommCenter patch allows manual editing of all the APN settings for data and MMS under Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network so you can input the required settings for Tmobile.

ok something worked. I think I unchecked cydia and only clicked the BB one. I gave up and was going to bed and happen to look at it and it said NO SIM which it hasnt said in months, just searching. So of course I had to get up and do the ultrasnow and it worked first try. Im so shocked and excited! Thank you SO MUCH for your time and effort. I dont know if you belong to a site besides this that takes donations. Id be happy to contribute. Please let me know. Just hope its ok by morning

The phone went back the restore needed. Not the picture to plug into itunes, just a message on the screen. Searching for signal, wifi is greyed out. Is it just broken?

Did you follow every step? If you did and it still doesn't want to work, try both methods from http://www.beijingiphonerepair.com/f...-iphone-3gs3g/. Method 1, here is a custom NO_BB IOS 4.1 ipsw, in case you cannot figure out how to create it with Sn0wbreeze. Method 2 step 1, you need to use a custom NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw(I created it with Sn0wbreeze instead of using Redsn0w). Whatever you do, do not skip any steps. To simplify Method 2, I created a iPad BB flash + jailbreak custom 5.1.1 ipsw with Sn0wbreeze which will allow you to skip to step 14. To help you put the phone in pwnDFU mode use iReb.

Does Tiny Umbrella still say IOS 4.3.5?

Im ready to try again. Was going to do your above steps. This is step 1. How do I choose custom IPSW and create a NO_BB 5.1.1 ipsw? When I say choose custom I have a NO_BB 5.1.1 but it says general error. Just confused on the wording because you say to choose it and create it and I dont see a creat option.

I live in northern California, could either find a friend to do it or call RadioShack to see if someone there could help you. The wording might be confusing, but for that reason I capitalized things that are important and linked to websites with easy to follow steps, like "Custom IPSW" is a button just below "Select IPSW" under "Extras" in Redsn0w. I created all the custom ipsw's you could ever need and posted links to download them all, so do not worry about the custom NO_BB ipsw creation steps, just download the ones I made. Anytime you restore using a custom ipsw you must put the phone into pwnDFU, using iReb or Redsn0w under Extras>Pwned DFU, before you shift + restore in iTunes. Try using the iPad BB + jailbreak custom 5.1.1 ipsw I created, then downgrade the iPad baseband using Redsn0w 0.9.14b2, then just install Ultrasn0w.
