Zapp Unlimited is Merging with Prepayd Wireless. Prepayd will allow BYOD

got this in my email from Zapp.

Zapp Unlimited has merged with Prepayd Wireless.

All Zapp Unlimited devices are now eligible to be activated on Prepayd Wireless.

All new activations, and replenishments must be done with Prepayd Wireless.

You will be receiving portal access within 24 hours.

All BYOD phones that were added to Zapp are now on the Prepayd Wireless system, as well as all purchased Zapp Unlimited devices.

Prepayd Wireless also offers a hassle free BYOD Program inside there portal

True or not I knew it was only a matter of time before Zapp went out of business. Their business model and how they changed their rates and expiration dates was a bad sign and many customers ported out as soon as the changes happened.

What is "PrepaYed Wireless" anyway? I cant find a website or any information anywhere. How about posting a link to their site?

So do they support byod or not? Sprint mvnos have been quashed for trying, what makes this any different (Liberty Wireless) . http://www.phonenews.com/sprint-shut...-program-9900/

I never liked Sprint mvnos because of their lack of byod...

    Why would they exclude Palms?

Do you have a link to that page. I've looked at every page on www.prepaydwireless.com and can't find it. Also their FAQ page says:

Can I use my own phone with PrepaYd Wireless?
    • Only devices purchased from PrepaYd Wireless or a PrepaYd Wireless Authorized Dealer are approved for use with PrepaYd Wireless Service. Handsets from other Carriers will not be approved for use.

It is located in the dealer portal under tools. If your not a dealer, then you won't see that option.

So dealers can activate BYOD devices on Prepayd but regular customers can't. How much do dealers typically charge for BYOD activations? Can they only activate Sprint phones or can Boost, Virgin, other Sprint MVNO or Verizon phones also be activated.

Are you saying the screenshot kyowvtv posted is fake? If it's real then I don't see that he posted anything false or misleading.

Do you work for PrepaYd? If so can you confirm the merger with Zapp and whether Zapp users can keep their current plans, such as pay as you go, which PrepaYd doesn't offer. Also can Zapp customers with phones they BYOD'ed on Zapp continue to use them on PrepaYd?

Best thing to do is to contact Prepayd DIRECTLY via email or phone and find out. Other then that it'll just be blah blah blah, yes, no, yes, no. and a waste of time. They either allow byod or they don't. It's really that simple. If they don't, no big deal, most Sprint prepaid/mvno options don't anyway. If they do, good, what limit is there on the devices? Really, it boils down to that.

On a site that rebranded Zapp service, they are now listing Prepayd plans instead. Currently, there is no paygo/minute plan there. Site also notes that you can bring your own Sprint phone or buy one from us.

I called Prepayed wireless. They say they cannot activate a Sprint phone but you can swap after you buy a prepayd wireless phone and then switch it out , kind of like Boost cdma. It is limited to 3g Sprint Androids and Windows Mobile. No Palms, Berries, Iphones or LTE/4G. No word on Wimax 4g.

What evidence can you provide that you really are the president? At this point (Aug. 8, 2012 at 7:33pm EDT) you only have 8 posts on HoFo which doesn't establish much in terms of reputation. You have only been a member a few weeks according to your profile and there is nothing there indicating that you are a representative of PrepaYd. Also isn't it unprofessional for you to take a direct shot (see post #12) on this forum at someone who claims to be a dealer? If you have the authority and there are grounds, report it to the administrators of Howard Forums. Frankly, you should be able to use your own systems to discover what dealer(s) are trying to activate unauthorized phones.
