I might be wrong but I thought Verizon postpaid and prepaid had no difference?
However, You can go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/s...verage-locator and click on prepaid for Verizon's prepaid map.

had posted this in VZW, suggested to move here....
Seems like it would be a common question, but I did a search and found threads highlighting differences to be 3g vs 4g and roaming.
what about for someone who stays within a large MTA, does not need to worry about roaming or speed differences?
I just want that famous Verizon call quality at a better price -- will Pageplus give this?
I have heard Pageplus is close but not as good (call quality and signal strength). I heard Pageplus uses Verizon's pre-paid towers, which are not as robust as their post paid (i.e. traditional) towers.
Specifically, does anyone know if Pageplus's reception is strong enough to work in stucco homes with tekshield (the foil stuff they put in newer homes in warmer regions to help reduce attic heat)?
I am currently on Tmo and ever since moving into a new stucco house with tek sheild, signal strengtht has hit the toilet (0-1 bar). I know Tmobile is testing in home microcell technology /wifi with some customers, but I don't want to have to worry about utilizing that, if I could get my cell phone to work natively in my home that would be awesome. My home is spread out and has different areas, some kind of far from another.
I heard Verizon can do it in my area -- does that mean Pageplus will as well??
Thanks

I would imagine every home in every city "could" be different given all the variables that might be involved (tower type/location, building/structure type, phone, battery level, atmospheric conditions, and on & on). My brother (Bionic/Env3) and I (Droid3/Env3) have PP. We live in scattered different house types and locations from 10+ family members with post paid VZ (mostly all iPhones). We see no difference of any kind.
Of course that's not to say there aren't any differences present. Obviously this is non-scientific casual observation but from a functional standpoint - we all get text, excellent voice quality, and 3G data.
I had Verizon for years...I've been on PP for over a year now and notice no difference at all in coverage and signal.
The non-roaming areas on the PPC coverage map are all Vzw native towers, so the signal strength is exactly the same, which is also exactly the same as Vzw's prepaid coverage. There are a LOT of untrue and unfounded rumors posted all over the place. The roaming areas on the PPC coverage map are all Vzw non-native coverage, which are included for free with Vzw postpaid, but that cost extra to use on PPC.

My PagePlus Phone History---11 Years & Counting
- Ericsson AF738, Jul 01 - Dec 03, Std Plan, $30/Yr
- Qualcomm QCP 2760, Dec 03 - Feb 08, Std Plan, $30/Yr
- LG VX-8600, Feb 08 - Apr 10, Std Plan, $30/Yr
- Samsung Omnia SCH-i910, Apr 10 - Nov 11, Std Plan, $80/Yr
- HTC Droid Incredible, Nov 11 - Present, Std Plan, $80/Yr
And, as with the 'native' transmitter sites, the P+ 'roaming' sites are still the same sites VZW subscribers use, they just cost 'extra' with P+.
In a nutshell, P+ and VZW 3G users will be using the exact same transmitter sites, everywhere. When (and if) P+ is ever given access to VZW's LTE system, those will be the same too. If this is confusing, do a search on "MVNO" to find out how the concept works.

The verizon coverage map isn't totally accurate. I get one bar at my house, but verizon's website shows no coverage online.
Can you actually make a call from your house with one bar?

I have been using Page Plus for several years and I am very happy with it. I am in Minnesota and would have a hard time finding a dead spot, without traveling way up north. There is a big rectangle in Wisconsin that is roaming. You can see that on the coverage map, either on the Page Plus website or on the Verizon website. If you use the Verizon website map, you have to make sure that you specify "prepaid" and "refresh map", so you get the correct map. The Page Plus home coverage is purple and the roaming coverage is blue.
