Data and mms no longer working right!!!

iPhone 4S. Had settings per the Wiki. Worked perfectly for the past few months until two days ago all of a sudden I couldn't send MMS anymore. Text messages and data fine. Re-did everything, got it working again. About a day later, the MMS stopped working again.

Now I can't get the MMS to work, no matter what I do. Then I discover mobile data is not working! So I delete the APN profile and start over at unlockit.nz to create a new profile. I got it to work briefly but now I can't. Tried again. No dice.

WTF?

Did settings change recently?

Another thing about the instructions. They show settings for "name", "proxy", etc. NONE of those fields have EVER shown up on my iPhone during the SIM swap technique. Confusing. It's like there are other settings I need to be putting in but there are no fields for them.

did you make any changes to the firmware? or get a update of some sort? that must be maddening.

No firmware changes. This is an unlocked iPhone 4S. Typical app updates. Never had a problem before with anything. This just happened out of the blue.

Those other settings are for Android devices. If a field is not available on your iPhone then don't worry about it.

As for mms, I know from past experience that using the sim-swap trick did not always make the settings stick, especially after reboot.

As for data, I don't really know what's going on there. You might have to do a restore from iTunes to start with a completely clean iOS install. Just make sure you backup your data first. Then try to see if setting up the APN from the unlockit site works. And only then restore your backups and see if data still works. Otherwise it might be some app or setting that is conflicting with your data working.

I think it might've been the reboot I did recently that killed my MMS. But now I gotta work on the data situation.

What did you do to get your MMS settings to stick?
