I'm in Louisiana. I disabled data on my phone and turned it back on, it seemed to fix the data time outs and server refuse messages.

First of all, ST doesn't ever handle any of the data services provided to you. They are routed directly from AT&T, T-Mobile, etc to the public internet. All the accounting is done by the respective carrier and ST is simply billed for it. ST literally has no infrastructure to support the data usage needs of its customers, the providers ST has contracts with takes care of that.
ST reps have the same access to an account that ATT or TMO have. They can refresh/update your account via their technical support tool which each of them have on the PC in front of them. Seeing as they have those programs and use those programs I consider it to be highly likely that the rep told nothing but the truth and its likely that the company wants to change some policies in order to cut down on call volume at their call center. A little quality control is all it is so when they take away the ability of reps to remove data restrictions once we find out we won't be calling back when it happens again. And maybe just maybe they are implementing a system wherein the throttle would be removed automatically when we renewed our plans each month??????

The guys I work with all have AT&T and they've not had any issues when I've had them and they've also not mentioned any noticeable outages like we're all having!

I'm having the same issues. Wonder if it's a local/regional thing or a national thing. Where are you located? I'm in Miami.

Edit: Also wonder if the real AT&T users are experiencing the same thing, or is it just ST.
I'm in Fort Lauderdale ... been having problem on and off with data today... drove up to cypress creek, same thing ...

Sounds like it's definitely ST doing some system upgrades or changes. I'm at work now, but when I have time I'll open a support ticket to see if they have any idea when data will be stable again.

Tonight, at midnight, exact same time as last night, data went out for 15 minutes. Came back. 10 minutes later went out for 5 minutes and came back on. Weird. Its not like data is just not working, my phone indicates no data connection at all. No 3/4G symbol or nothing. Just voice signal.

Unless once that happens we all bombard them with throttling complaints, and keep the reps tied up longer because they can't help us.

I'd sure complain if I were throttled. And if the rep couldn't do anything I'd ask for a supervisor, that supervisor's supervisor, etc., until I got someone who could help me.

Glad I'm not crazy. Been having major... major issues with data lately. Totally throttled, unusable speeds. Data randomly being pulled completely (still showing as connected, only no IP address) for hours at a time. Totally infuriating. Haven't spent the required amount of time on the phone with them yet to resolve it.

According to a rep from ST that messages me here we are crazy because they don't throttle! However, months ago I couldn't get my speeds back to normal but I luckily have access to my gf's Account and phone which is identical to mine an iphone 4s and I did a sim swap and whatever iPhone had my sim in it would get 0.09kbps download and 1.5mbps upload. So after I renewed with a 45$ card that didn't help and then the next month I changed my # and renewed with another 45$ card and still nothing helped but then all of the sudden when I went as far as buying a new sim and installing it everything was fine! How could they possibly deny that they throttle when in their TOS it says they can reduce data speeds???? Sorry that is called throttling no matter how you look at it.

That is exactly what's happening to me! Don't worry though we're just paranoid.

You're the guy that helped get everyone unthrottled too aren't ya?

Is this happening only with the AT&T SIMs?

Anyone using a T-Mobile only SIM?

tmo sim. Boston. haven't noticed data outages. Have been doing 50mb traffic last 4 nites d/ling apps as I have reflashed a bunch of times and forget to try to use wifi to load apps. I doubt they will settle on 2.5gb - more like 1gb, if we're lucky. I try to hold myself to 500mb to stay safe. I think we'll see this go up and down over the next few years as att and tmo find out what they can do with all these new fast phones on their towers... It's new territory for them.
