Claro Software and android 1.5 on different carrier xperia x10

Ok, so I am about to sell my xperia x10 and unfortunately I found a problem with the speaker, so I had to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

THey changed the speaker and all that, but they gave it back to me with a Claro software (I have it on a different carrier) and running android 1.5!! I had it on 2.3 and unbranded.

Can I do the same I did when I unbranded and updated it to the 2.3 although the carrier's software they put in is different?

Apparently it bricked when they were fixing it and couldn't bring it back to life so they put that software in.

Nevermind, I used flashtool and now Im running 2.3 and unbranded. Thank you.
