Help: Simply, a Decent, Recent Android Phone for PagePlus

Folks, I've been on PP for two months and love them. Love 'em!

    The one frustration is handsets.
I'm using a 2 1/2 year old HTC Incredible that I'd really like to replace.

It seems to do this, I must search eBay or go to sleazy phone stores in rough neighborhoods...usually to find comparable 2+ year old phones.

Is there a decent, recent Android (pref 4.0) phone that will just work on PP?
If I go to one of the Verizon authorized resellers, would they just sell me something, full price, that I can walk out the door with and enjoy on PP?

It really shouldn't be this much of a struggle.
I appreciate your expertise and advice on this.

No. Only Vzw 3G smart phones (not 4G) will work on PPC with no modifications. The newest Vzw smart phones that will work 100% with no modifications on PPC are Droid 3, Incredible 2, and X2. The Incredible 2 won't receive OTA updates unless subscribed to Vzw, but there are instructions posted on HoFo telling how to update with the latest OTA using your computer.

Thanks for the info. Less than 2 months ago I got a Droid X. Then, doh! I found there was a Droid X2. So a couple weeks ago I got a Droid X2. Sold my Droid X yesterday for a good price . So now I'm thinking what next. So I went to PhoneScoop to compare those latest 3. I'm not going back in screen size DX2 4.3". So I guess I'm done trading up in phones. Until there's some easy peasy ways to get full functions out of the newest VZW LTE phones.

Boz1 speaks the truth. In some ways, you've got to dispense with the idea that you've got to have the latest, slickest, and most premium experience when you're dealing with prepaid cellular in this tier (Verizon MVNO providers). The 1st gen. Incredible is a very nice phone, and very conveniently sized. The race to have the largest display, or latest generation of display technology, or even the latest version of Android, kind of ends with that list of phones at the present time. Boredom with a device is a tricky thing, but it doesn't mean the device doesn't already do most of what you need done, or isn't a good fit with the capabilities of the plans and technology limitations of the MVNO (in this case mainly speed).
