750 out of 1000? That's a "C". Sounds like "best" means "sucks least".

These test results look like they're all sorts of misleading. Why is Net10 so far below Tracfone even though they're basically identical, for example?

Here is the chart on an absolute scale... suddenly not so impressive eh? (This is how Consumer Reports would actually display this, BTW.)

Because it's how their customers experience is reported, that's brand/account specific.

It shows having the same MVNO network doesn't mean the same customer service.

Virgin seems to bend over backwards to keep you, but others will tell a different story!

I'll agree with others here, it seems to be 'sucks least'. All of them are within 100 points of each other and the fact they are all earning a C or a D grade shows how terrible the telecom industry is in general.

It's good to see Cricket at the bottom, they have a terrible network, terrible phone choices, terrible service, and their plan pricing isn't even competitive anymore. Good for them.

Yeah all suck in different ways. A matter of finding which one sucks the least for your individual needs I guess. I think all need improvements across the board especially with some of the prices people are paying.

Most of the time, VM has been the best at customer retention. I have experienced some horrible customer service from Tracfone/Net10 in the past, I recently tried Net10 to see if they had improved only to discover that they are now far worse than before. Their CS was absolutely incompetent, ask them a few questions such as: Do you use a Net10 phone yourself? and Mr."Peggy" responded "what does the screen say now? ok now let the phone restart and tell me when its back on home screen". So do you also use an iPhone with net10?
"Now press the menu key and scroll to ..." But the phone has not restarted yet...
"Keep pressing the menu key then... " You don't seem to be listening Peggy, the phone has not restarted yet,...
"ok now press the menu key." It's still off!!!!!!

Kindly gently hung up on "Mr. Peggy".
Called again, only to get his cousin Mr."Lynn" which spoke in a dialect other than English.

... VM may not be perfect, but at least they're not as horrible as Trac, Net10, ST.

The list does not include Verizon Prepaid, which is better than all the listed prepaid service providers. It does cost more but you are getting what you are paying for.
CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!

I have Net10 prepaid as well, and I found their customer service to be superior to VM's.

To make matters worse, they ended up losing a 10 year old back up number during the porting process.
    Mr. "Peggy" ...
