How do I disable emergency on Calling Sanyo SCP 7050

    hello.
I have an old Sanyo SCP-7050 that still works but will not be used anymore on any phone line. Since the phone is very rugged and my todler loves to play with phones I want to give it to him. However Emergency mode is still enabled and he has managed to call 911. I have thought of taking the phone apart but with the special screws the phone uses I am afraid that I would destroy the phone while trying to get at the antenna.

I have found this code ##3282# which lets me access some 3g data settings but honestly I have no idea what to change in there.

Can anyone help me in taking this phone completely off the network?

By law all cellphones are required to have the emergency calling feature enabled and there is no official way to disable it. Your best best is simply removing the battery, but if I was in your situation, I would've bought your son a toy cellphone. You can buy them online or at a toy store and they will be much better as they have things like counting songs or voice recording on them, so they will definitely be more fun and educational for the toddler.

Slide a piece of paper between the keypad and either the 1 or 9. No more 911.
