Do most of you go through the ST website and use the auto Refill? I think it would be convenient in that way rather than to have to add it every month. Has anyone had any problems with either method?
I don't know if ST is an ethical enough company to entrust with the ability to use my debit card on a regular basis......
My thoughts were would they be reliable or not. I would not give them my debit card number for sure. I would use credit.
Yes, mine works on time every month with no issues so far, knock on wood.
And yes, not just with cell service, but I'd run your card as credit every time. Walk away from any business that refuses to.
I redeem gift cards for the service every month. Saves almost 4 bucks in taxes each month and I don't want them having control of when they will me. Heard lots of times that they charge you then terminate your service for a TOS violation...
By gift card you mean the refill cards you buy at Walmart and enter the code into the phone or via the website.
I've used auto refill for a year and had no problems. I cancelled it so I could save money on the 3 or 6 month cards I get from time to time. Both ways work well. Good luck
I also use the 3 month cards to save a couple dollars each month.
IMHO, my observation is those who are leary of using auto-refill, or even purchasing 6 or 12 months at a time, are the same ones who complain about being throttled, cut off or other unspeakable ST problems. I wonder if there is a corrolation?
I have been on and off auto-refill a couple of times. I'm currently off because I bought some 3 month cards and applied them to my reserve, then the next month when they should have automatically used my reserve, they auto charged me, this changed my account end day by +1 month. When I called them up, they acknowledged the issue and said I would have to remove auto-refill.
So I did and now everything is fine. I probably won't be going back on auto-refill. I'll just keep my eye out for deals on the 3 month card and use reserve.
I'm new with ST, but I calculate I can save over $7/month (ie, $42/mo vs $49.37/mo) ordering a 90 day refill on walmart.com vs auto-refill with ST. This assumes a walmart.com ship to address to a State having no sales tax. I can save a few cents more with a 180 day refill, but figure it's not worth the additional savings. Note: it seems ST always uses your billing address to calculate sales tax whereas walmart.com uses your ship to address.
