Just wanted to know how good the reception is on the Xperia Ray? I currently have an LG Optimus One and was thinking on upgrading.
Also, is there a website or anything that would rate phones in terms of reception? I keep reading on how great Motorola phones are (especially the Milestone and Defy) so I was hoping that there might be a site that would show the various cell phones and how great their reception is.
Thank you.

Thank you cedqc418.
I appreciate the response. I am still stuck on whether I should upgrade or not.
My daughter has the Xperia Ray and she gets 2 bars where her old LG Keyboo 2 got none. She rarely dropps a call at home and we have crappy cell service in our area. Nowhere near as good as my Motorola XT860 which has the best reception I have experienced.
You can t compare lg keybo 2 and xperia ray ...
Is not the same network...

Folks,
I have tested the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray for 2 weeks and its RF performance is not stellar in some challenging spots like in the fringe coverage, basements where even a Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 could still hold on to the weak signal better. Mind you the Galaxy S II is not a solid RF performer itself to begin with.
Of course, most handsets work fine in good coverage overall.

That is great information HC. I haven't bought it yet as I am still trying to weigh my best options. My phone is mostly an emergency phone so I need it to have good reception even in fringe coverage areas.
I do understand that my options are limited but I am trying to make the best choice I can.
Mumbly,
Greetings.
Do not get me wrong as I still like the XPERIA Ray very much since its launch last year... it is pocketable, light, feel solid in my hand. Surely, it is not a flagship model with quad-core processing power and the small screen may not be ideal for tasks involving a lot of typing. But as a simple handset for certain occasions that I only care about checking a few things or taking some snap shots on the go / vacation, it is pretty darn good.
The $99 price tag at selected Future Shop locations is very tempting for budget-conscious end-users. But if you can raise the bar for a little more, you can also consider HTC One V or Sony XPERIA U.
