Sorry, but I'm a little confused by your post. Are you trying to use an actually AT&T branded sim, or a ST branded AT&T sim? You just order one of ST's sims on ST.

I tried to use an att sim with the straight talk program and the rep told me the sim wasn't found in the system. I wonder why I could use an art sim with h20 but not straight talk.

Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.
Ok chazmatt that's what I noticed but I was just wondering why straight talk is different from the other ATT mvno's. I thought a sim card was a sim card but I guess they register all of their sim cards in their system.

Not only that, you can't even use a Net10 SIM for Straight Talk service or a Straight Talk SIM for Net10 service. The SIMs are identical, but apparently they get programmed before shipping so they're tied to the particular service ordered against.

If they let you use any SIM then they wouldn't be able to charge $15 for a $1 SIM card. Carlos didn't get that rich by being nice.
The SIM serial number has to be in the particular carrier's database for them to be able to activate it. So if it's not an ST SIM, they won;t have it and they can't activate it. ("Activating" just means that they tell the system that SIM X is now being used for phone number Y. If they don't have SIM X they can't do that.)
