End of service and porting my number (time frame)

I would like to port my number from Sprint to my new service.

Sprint has told me my next (and last) billing cycle is Sept. 4. The bill is already viewable online.

If I port my number and return the phones say two weeks before the 4th is there a service credit for that or do I just lose out on that two weeks?

If it is the latter, I will hold on to the phone until the last week of August.

    Thank you.

And yes, I did call and ask. I was told, "I don't know the answer to that."

You won't get a credit for cancelling in the middle of the month. Keep the phones until the end of the month.

No experience, but was told by Sprint when I had them, that they do not pro-rate and will charge you for the complete month.

Thank you both. That is very helpful. I will wait until the last week of Aug to port my number and ship my phones back.

I think they said it may take up to 3-4 days to log the phones as returned, so I suppose I will need to ship them off by 27th at the latest so that they can get there in time.

I wish I could just take them in to a store to return but they told me that isn't possible.
