Nexus S is giving problem, SIM is changed whats next?

    ok.

Its been while my wife's nexus s is acting up (dropped calls, or when you call the phone it does not ring despite full reception).

Took it to service center and they changed the sim -- the guy asked me to do a factory reset and test it out and take it back in case I still had issues. I did the factory reset and nothing is improved. Now if I take it back to them what will they do? Whats next?

Are they going to send my phone for repair or exchange it?

The next step would be to borrow, try, or buy another phone to use to see if there is any difference. Do your other lines ever have the same problem at the same time and in the same place? Since you have more than one Wind line, have your wife switch phones with you and put her sim card in one of your phones for a few days. With more than one Wind line/phone, you yourself have more troubleshooting abilities than Wind's on-the-phone customer service. Even in store, the only thing they can really do for that you can't do yourself is send the phone in for warranty repair. If it's a network problem, don't hold your breath on things getting fixed in a timely manner.

Every few days, I have those exact same type of problems. I've been through a few sim swaps and I try out different phones all the time. At least for me, it has always been a Wind-end issue, yet they fail to acknowledge any such network issues and just keep following the same script any time I call in. Changing the sim card almost always does nothing. It's something that customer service often tells customers to do just to get them off the phone.

it ain't your phone ... most probably if not 99.99% the problem being with WIND itself ... I had the same exact problems dropped calls and phone does not ring while it has full coverage! same exact scenario changed SIMs twice and same exact problems still occurred and I just lost the hope of giving them a chance as I couldn't live with paying $40 for 3-4 dropped calls a day and my phone not ringing!

Since you appear to have a total duplicate service (two Nexus S handsets, two HMP's), and since you mention that this problem exists on your wife's phone (only?), I'm surprised you haven't interchanged the SIM's between the two phones, and noted whether the problem stays with the phone (hardware) or the SIM (service).
If in fact you have done so, I have overlooked this in your note.

    Try it - see what happens . . . .

well.. I have done all that.. and sometimes both phones are beside each other and relatives call my phone and ask why my wife does not pick up her phone where I see no call coming in nor missed call on her phone!

I'm wondering in this case whats WIND warranty policy? Will they fix/repair or replace it with refurb?

both phones are on Jellybean -- baseband I9020XXKI1 --

would you be able to pop in a different SIM from a different provider and see if that SIM will make the phone ring and receive and make calls ... if it works then ... then it is WINDs problem

try it out first and see

Guys. I called my mom a few times yesterday and thought her phone was off, it kept going straight to voicemail. I'm at my parents place this morning. Phone is on with 4/4 bars (-73 dBm 20 asu), I'm calling it from different numbers and it won't ring. WTF? It's also a Nexus S. Tried rebooting it several times + factory reset.

I would pop in my Bell SIM to test that but it won't work because the phone is just 3G AWS 1700/2100.

The only thing that changed between yesterday and the days before was we downgraded from I35 to BTS2012.

I did a SIM swap b/t my mom and dad's phone. Dad's number rings on both phones. Mom's doesn't ring in either. Wish I had a spare SIM here I could call in and assign the # to a new SIM.

OK I figured out my problem... When Wind downgraded to BTS2012 it removed Voicemail+.. so I set up forwarding to an external voicemail through the WIND website. Problem is, that tool configured itself as ALWAYS FORWARD instead of conditional forward (busy/unanswered/unreachable). So if you need conditional forward that online tool is useless.

Not necessarily true. I've got two NexusS on the same day at the same Wind store. One went to my wife, one is with me. One my wife has - shows exactly same behavior as topic starter described while my does not. On the "bad" phone I tried swapping sims and tried upgrading to ICS followed factory reset - no luck. Guy in the store had no clue what to do except swapping the sims... but it all went fine magically after jelly bean update or at least as severity of the problem degraded below the point where it is not a big deal.
