I think it makes sense because they are upgrading all their towers or most of them to fiber. That is easily upgradable in speeds without recabling.

Could a 100% Unlimited HSPA + data (later LTE?) be around the corner?
Finally Sprint may stop showing those annoying ads with "truly unlimited data"

Probably it will be like the current "unlimited" plans where the restrictions are in the Terms of Service--like Straight Talk which prohibits watching video...
Hmm, maybe this could explain why my speeds have topping at 8mbps (at the most) everywhere I go. The speeds even stay like this late at night. I could see them offering unlimited data and capping users at say 8mbps as in not to impact network performance due to those that would normally use up gigabytes a day, once they got onto this offer.

It would be a smart move on Tmobile's part to go truly unlimited while AT&T and Verizon go tier. It will also make them a little better than prepaid. I say everything unlimited at 79.99 would be fair.

I'd jump all over an unlimited data plan

Last time I got one of those "let's review your account to see if we can do better" calls, the rep tried to sell me home internet using one of the hotspots. When I mentioned just how much "Wonder Pets", "Yo Gabba Gabba" and "Kipper" is streamed on Netflix (let alone what myself and wife use) she quickly withdrew that suggestion. That said if it were unlimited for home use it would have to compete with the rate (speed and price) from the cable company....

So this is an unlimited data plan without the throttling or other annoying restrictions?
Like AT&T does and the current T-Mobile USA offering?
Unlimited uncapped 4g. I don't think they would do it unless the monthly bill was at least $150.
Completely agree. We've been had coming and going for too long. We've paid for the landline phone network, the cable/dsl network, and the wireless networks many times over. These companies keep crying wolf to us and yet they laugh all the way to the bank. Ironically, Sprint is the only one not posting profits. VZW, ATT, and Tmobile are all in the black for wireless.
I know many people who sit by and accept this outlandish prices and practices. These absurd limits do no good for anyone. Short of the few times ATT mismanaged their own network in San Fran and NYC, we've never witnessed any of these 'wireless phones all came crashing down and didn't work'. Same goes for the landline internet services.
So, yes, we should get unlimited voice, data, and texting for like 40-50 a month. That'd be fair and reasonable. Also, just charge whatever the local sales tax is, the rest of those fees are completely bogus. Roll them into the 40-50 a month prices like most other services do and stop with the false advertising.
it's insane to believe you're going to get unlimited data for that price. tmo would be Asking for abuse because there are people, I won't name names, that will abuse tmo like a boxer pounding a heavy bag. if you think people won't do that, you don't understand human nature. businesses don't give unlimited anything unless it's paid for. expect to pay a lot. because most people that want unlimited data have big plans for that big pipe.
