FoxFi tethers WiFi on 4G LTE with your RAZR same as always ?
Then too, this may be something that vzw is doing at the tower level, one at a time.
Eirher way, has anyone else experienced, or seen reports of, similar problems with any of the third-party tethering apps?
Another likely scenario is that this is another vzw feeler, a ploy to gauge reaction, as the zdnet blog linked by Zappy in the FCC thread also may well have been.

Here we go with more conspiracy theories. Maybe the guy who is having problems with Foxfi doesn't realize that his phone has some problem...that perhaps reinstalling the app or reseting his phone would solve. Verizon has better things to do with their time than block wifi tethering (but allow bluetooth tethering to work??) one tower at a time...that's ridiculous to even suggest that.
And yes..my LTE Ipad3 tethers with an unlimited SIM just fine.
Are you one of those people that think Obama is not a US citizen and that the Israeli's (along with George W.) planned 9/11?
Ahh! no politics, thats one way to really derail this thread.
Lets instead see what happens here after a while. I'm curious to see if we get more posts, verizon has <30 days to implement its c-block rules
Jt, all you say makes good sense except the gratuitous ad hominem stuff.
Yes a handset issue is likely. Which, if you were looking for answers instead of staging ad hominem strafing runs, you would have noticed is why I was asking for corroboration of the problem.
As for putting out feelers, like blogs -- or such blocks as this may or may not be -- just good business practice. I don't think you'd call it shrewd business for it to draw up its plan this month per the consent decree without making various and serious efforts to gauge public and consumer reaction to possible alternative courses of action.
But it also makes sense to expect that vzw will do all it fairly can to evade the clear intent of the consent decree. If blocking fast access tethering tower by tower became the only alternative that would work, you aren't likely to claim it wouldn't happen.
And I will credit you that you will not deny that vzw played the lead role in Philadelphia when WiFi internet was beginning to develop into a free municipal utility in many places around the country. You have the good sense, I trust, not to call that a "conspiracy theory".
If you weren't overconcerned about a dull axe, your brief second paragraph alone would have helped resolve the issue and sufficed to prevent two unnecessary much longer ones as well.

Huh? That's it, I'm going back to school.
So it must have been a local tower issue, now we can tether on 4g again in our area. Don't know what was going on, but I'm glad it's working again.
Right again, Jt, you're on a roll.

Home ISP, RR-Ultimate WiFi, $90/mo | Verizon 4G, $30/mo Unlimited
School, $5,000/semester | Work
And I am tethering right now on a Bionic using an ATT prepaid SIM with unlimited data on HSPA, using Wireless Tether for Android, the original WiFi tethering app. The native Mobile Hotspot app also works, but requires some editing of the APNs to allow it to use the default APN for tethering.
I can also do the same with any of my VZW devices on either my UL LTE SIM or my 5GB/50$ LTE SIM.
I happen to be in a 3G only coverage area where I live and work, but it all works over the 4G LTE network as well.
What you are supposed to do and what you can get away with are entirely different things, as pointed out by vatothe0 in the other thread.

Read more, post less.
It may also be the case that "(w)hat you are supposed to do" per vzw and what you are allowed legally to do by the US government through the FCC "are entirely different things" as well.
