    Phones with HDMI

Does any of the current phones have the HDMI connection available? I've looked at the specs but none seem to have it. Was told there was one but can't get clear answer and live about 30 miles from store that says come in and look. "Sigh" .... sorry if this was asked before but couldn't find any posts of it.

The Electrify has a mini HDMI port. Last I tried it didn't work right, but I have not tried since December though.

Sent from my Motorola Electrify using Tapatalk 2

I have the Electrify but it's getting long in the tooth and needed another phone with mini HDMI. No Electrify's in our neck of the woods and was told its phased out. My Electrify's mini HDMI works really good and we use it quite often for presentations but it's had a hard life, rode hard and put up wet, quite a few knocks and bangs and since I'm due for an upgrade need another phone with mini HDMI. Thanks

Doesn't the Aviator have one too? I vaguely remember one on my Droid Charge, but it could have been the Bionic and RAZR that I'm remembering instead.

    Verizon's 4G network.

I live in California, not New York. I actually dislike New York.

I believe both the Galaxy s2 and s3 have mhl ports. Which you can use for micro usb or hdmi.

Is the Avaitor the only one? After looking at the reviews it looks like people aren't satisfied with it. Wish I was more techno savvy. Thanks for replies still not sure what to do.

I didn't say it had an hdmi port. It has an mhl port. With an mhl port you can use either a micro usb cable. Or an mhl to hdmi adapter cable.

Sorry i guess i missed that . It is a pain to carry around an adapter . The adapter is 30 plus dollars.

The electrify mentioned above and the aviator are the only two with a built in port

I agree with you about it being a pain to bring along any adapter. But when I had an electrify I used the hdmi adapter only a couple times.

NOTE: since apparently I've never posted before you'll have to be creative with the links I've included

It should be noted that the majority of adapters you linked to will not function with the S3 directly out of the box. The S3 was built with an 11-pin MHL connector that's different from the standard 5-pin connector. If you want to use a cheaper 5-pin connector Samsung has a 5-to-11 pin adapter to plug your adapter into (it's adapters all the way down!!).

Apparently Samsung had a valid design in mind when they opted to use the 11-pin configuration:

I'm sure charging a bit more for their dongle was on their mind at the same time, but those added benefits seem to be helpful also and could possibly be a new standard (yay for ever-changing standards!)

If you're searching for an MHL dongle, just make sure that it's product description mentions the pin count or you pick up one of the Samsung made adapters. Though Monoprice mentions they plan to have one shortly (according to their site: note the red text under the supported device table)
