Hey folks! Just got a ZTE Merit. With all the concern on data usage and throttling, I want to ensure that when I'm at the house, I'm only using data on my Wi-Fi connection. Does anyone know how I can do that? I know I'm connected to my wi-fi network, but it appears I'm also connected to the mobile 3G network so I don't know which one the data is actually coming through. So far, it appears that I cannot turn off 3G on the phone natively.
Also, what about a recommendation for good app that monitors data usage on each connection?

If you're connected to Wifi, all of your data should go through Wifi until you lose the connection. My Android phone actually disconnects the 3G connection when Wifi is present.
3G watchdog is my favorite way to monitor data use. You can use it to easily see whether data is being used on Wifi or 3G just by hitting the refresh button periodically and watching the counters increase.
I'd also get Quick Settings. You can use it to easily turn off Mobile Data when you're at home.

Thanks all! I got 3G Watchdog and it does indeed appear to be using only the wifi connection (when available) for data. It just wasn't very obvious since both the 3G and wifi icons were lit up in bright green.
