a little help will be much apreciated since I've heard a lot of different opinions on this subject.
Does an unlocked european iphone work in the US? If yes, what's the procedure on getting a prepaid that includes data? I've heard a lot of things about having to cut the sim to fit in or that the people who are supposed to help you are not very supportive etc. Which carrier do you recommend?
An unlocked European iPhone is no different from an unlocked American iPhone or an unlocked Asian iPhone. They're all the same. Once unlocked, it'll work with any compatible GSM/UMTS/HSPA carrier in the world. As far as prepaid service in the US, the most popular option seems to be Straight Talk. They have their own forum and there are a lot of threads about provisioning iPhone and iPhone data and all that, so you may want to go over there and read up and post any follow-up question in that forum.
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.
