Some time in the past 10 days or so, an update from the App Store or Cydia has been draining my battery. I'm seeing a decrease of somewhere around 20% or more over night, and battery drain of 5-10% per hour on standby during the day.
For instance, while at the movies yesterday, I shut off 3G, GPS, Ringer, & Bluetooth. When the show was over after about 2 hours, the battery drain was over 20% with only "E" active.
My wife has the same i4s, and mostly the same apps, and her phone is doing the same thing, so I am sure it is not a hardware issue with my handset.
Additionally, I use a cradle to connect my phone to my computer for sync & charging during the day. It also now has a problem making the charge connection, and generally requires a reboot to finally charge from the USB port on my desktop. The data connection works normally, and I can connect with iTunes without a problem. This began at the same time I noticed the battery drain issue.
One time about 5-6 months ago a similar issue came up, and it had been an app that got an update, caused this type of problem, then got a NEW update that fixed the problem. I just cannot remember which one it was at that time.
Anyone else experiencing this problem, and have you figured out what the app might be?
I think I solved the problem, but still testing to be sure.
I finally updated to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 and did a housekeeping sweep of unused apps. I had my phone unlocked via one of the IMEI unlockers from another thread and that was maintained after the update, but I still do not get the "Congratulations" message at the end of the iOS install from iTunes about being unlocked.
Anyway, the app(s) that caused this should be updated soon, so my wife's phone will hopefully regain it battery life. I see no one else of over 200 viewers has any ideas or comments, so it may be some obscure conflict between apps I have installed.
