    Cellphone Repair

    Hi Howard Forums!

I want to start my own cellphone repair service. I've been looking around online, and to be honest I'm not sure were to start. Me and my collegues have looked up places where we can become certified technicians, but how good is the training at so and sos you know. Another thing we are having trouble with is finding a supplier for parts. The internet is scattered with part suppliers, but who is going to be the most reliable?

I was just wondering if you guys that are in the business have any tips for us, or any reliable places we could go to for training and parts.

    Thank you for you time.

I don't, except as a customer. Seems that mostly you'd be fixing broken screens and dewatering phones. Maybe replacing non-replaceable batteries. Not much you can do with a phone run over by a truck. We recently found out how worthless phone insurance was when my wife broke the glass screen on her Android phone. The deductible on the insurance was $150 and you'd get someone else's reconditioned phone. It cost $175 to have new glass put on the phone and she got her phone back with no need to restore or change any apps, contacts, etc. Most smart people could probably figure out how to do everything after a few days of OJT.

Maybe do it as a side-job?
