    $25 Monthly Plan Retention

My account date is Sept 3, I'll be out of the service area and won't be able to top up for the month.

Will I lose my grandfathered 25 Plan if i don't top up this month and than top up the next month.

NO I think your number will last 90 days according to virgin mobile website. As long as you don't loose your number, you are good.
Contracts ?? Ain't nobody got time for that !

You have 90 days from your last top-up. Sometimes even longer, but minimum 90 days.

Can't you just pay in advance right now online before you leave?

    Yup.

I pay early all the time. If you have 25 bucks in your account you can click pay now and it will pay the month. I've done it as early as a week after my month end.

Even if it doesn't work, like everyone said above there are no worries.

No, unless you're in the military.

    This is interesting:

    Year of Service

Virgin Mobile's 1 Year of Service will keep your service active for a whole year. That means there's no need to worry about topping-up to keep your service from expiring. Just top-up whenever you need more airtime, or money for texting, ringtones, etc.

There are now 3 ways to participate in 1 Year of Service.
Top-Up $90 or more in any consecutive 72 hour period by using a credit/debit card, registered PayPal account, or Top-Up cards.
Top-Up $60 or more in any consecutive 72 hour period within 30 days of activation. This applies to Pay As You Go Plans only.
Buy and apply a $90 Top-Up card to your account. 1 Year of Service apllies to both Pay As You Go and Monthly Plans.

You can use a credit/debit card, registered PayPal account, or Top-Up cards and we'll send you a Virgin Alert letting you know that you've qualified for the 1 Year of Service. If you want to enroll in 1 Year of Service, do nothing. If you are not interested in being enrolled in 1 Year of Service, call 1-888-322-1122. The money that you put into qualifying for Servicer Preserver is yours to use. If you use it up before the year is up, just add more airtime to your account for calling, texting, ringtones, etc.

When your year is up, you can choose to re-enroll in 1 Year of Service by Topping-Up $90 within any 3-day period or purchasing a $90 Top-Up card and activating 1 Year of Service again. Otherwise, you'll have to Top-Up according to the Top-Up rules of your plan to remain active and keep your phone number.

I've had problems manually using "pay now" feature before my actual renewal date. My data got screwed up and I had to call customer service to restart the month. I would suggest just topping up, VM will automatically deduct $25 from your balance on the 3rd.
