So I got an sd card and I've been trying to transfer media via the data cable that came with my phone (LG Rumor Reflex), and as per the instructions in the tutorial on the Boostmobile site. I get as far as tapping the Connect to PC under mass storage, and Win 7 tries searching for and installing device driver software, but then says it cannot be found and the device is unplugged. ?? No where on the Boost site, nor the user guide did it say I needed a driver or where to find one. I found a more detailed guide for the Reflex on the Sprint site which says no driver installation is needed for Win 7. Yet, my computer performs a search for one every time I connect the usb cable. The tutorial on Boost's site said a window with the contents of the sd card is supposed to show up (although, there's nothing on it other than the default folders). Where?? The only place my phone is listed on my computer when in connect to pc mode, is the Device Manager and that is as a modem.
I've been searching for days with no luck to any answers and am beyond frustrated I can not figure this out. It's ridiculous that it should be this difficult to to connect a new 2012 phone to a Win 7 computer, when several years ago mid 2000's it was a piece of cake on an older phone on XP no less.
It would be greatly appreciated for help regarding this issue and if I do in fact need a driver and where to get the right one (LG site has three different Reflex models listed), as I don't want to screw up my new phone with incompatible software/firmware.
I just connected my Rumor Reflex to my Windows 7 Laptop without any problems, (no issues with my Vista laptop either). Windows should load the driver automatically and create a removable disk drive in My Computer.
If you have more than one usb port try plugging the cable into a diffrent port.
