Just curious if folks are still on iDEN or if they've left. I used to leave an i776 in my car but swapped it for a Moto Theory on CDMA instead. I'm noticing reduced coverage (note: not no service) in areas that used to have excellent reception.
I recently went to Kauai (Hawaii) and noticed the Hertz shuttle bus drivers all had iDEN phones. I have relatives that work at hotels who still use iDEN phones as well. It will be interesting to see what they end up with when the time comes.
I'm keeping my i776 active and riding it into the sunset![]()

Well, I'm a frequent texter and I had the desire to get a smartphone... I saw it was time to leave my i465.
The iDEN service is really far behind everything else - too far to be able to catch up.
I work at a boost dealer and have friends that do too people are complaining about their service getting worse by the day central florida where i am has already lost nearly 75% of iden towers this coming from corporate boost people. As far as the people in hawaii are you sure it was iden and not iust their own walkie talkies like cops and paramedic have their own but not tru a cellphone carrier thos wouldnt be affected
Yup. Definitely iDEN. Looked like the i315. And my relative has a company iDEN phone so that obviously I know for sure. It'll be interesting to see what everyone does. Coverage for sure is shrinking though, what a bummer.

Here in mo my service has been dismal. I have had the line for 3 years with minimal use. I am trying to port out to a different provider I started the process Monday. I had to call to get the acct number and they asked alot of questions why etc. and started to offer me options. I even got a mailer offering a CDMA phone. This is Friday night and my number still is not on my new phone.
trying to come up with better signature.......
Not until they pry my i335 from cold dead hands.....or the service is shut down. Hopefully the put PTT on Boost.
BTW got a txt from Boost saying starting in November I will have to pay an extra $10/mo to stay on the iden service...being pushed off....
The service couldn't get any worse and now Sprint wants and extra $10 if I stay on the iDen network.
I got my notice that they want an extra ten a month starting in November. So now I decide if I stay with them or leave the carrier.
Hmmmmm.... more money......worse service.....must want us to go elsewhere
Seriously? They want to charge an extra $10/mo? They should be discounting everyone's service by $10 instead! I wouldn't want to use iDEN if I had to rely on it for traveling cross country. Very interesting approach to getting people off. Didn't AT&T pull something similar with TDMA?
