    99.9% Happy with Android....but!!!

I switched from blackberry to a galaxy note. A few things that I have found that need to be improved is the accuracy of the touch keyboard. Also when your either walking etc causing movement it de-sensitizes and then temporarily stops recognizes typing.

Ex. This is typed using the keyboard with normal typing......what a joke! !!

I switched fro.. .blackberry to a galaxy note. A few tin.vs that I have found that need Toby j. .improve it dementiaex is the accurate y of the touch key owed. So either when your walking etc causing Kk event it dementia and stores recognizing thing.

****look at the above quality of typing and using swift key makes no improved difference. Google needs to improve the accuracy of typing output as its greatly lacking in this area!!!!!

In my usage, I am quite happy with the stock, also known as the Nexus, keyboard in my phones, and I use that, first Gingerbread, now Ice Cream Sandwich, in my non Nexus devices. Someone took the opportunity to upload the stock keyboard app into the Google Play store and Google didn't seem to mind. It's either that or some people wrote a keyboard app that mimics exactly the stock Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich keyboards as they appeared on the Nexus.

No matter how much touch accuracy is improved I can't imagine it will ever be as good as a real keyboard. It's a tradeoff we make to get the big screens.

That being said, I'd still recommend trying other keyboards. Both Smart Keyboard Pro & Perfect Keyboard seemed to have better accuracy IMO than SwiftKey, although they don't seem to have as much support or momentum as SwiftKey.

I've been using TouchPal keyboard since i got my GS2, one of the few people who hate QWERTY boards on a phone, yet, i can use it with TP, although i prefer T9 layout, i manager great with TP's QWERTY.

Just FYI - Smart Keyboard Pro let's you use both. Ex: you can have T9 or 2-letter compact qwerty in portrait & full qwerty in landscape.

Might be something you might want to have checked out...I have no problems with the screen accuracy in fact at times its a little too accurate. As far as the keyboard goes, I personally only use the keyboard to "type" when in landscape and can use two thumbs. Otherwise I use Swype and it tends to be very accurate 95% of the time. I can tell you that nothing is going to be fully as accurate as an actual keyboard, but at the same time, I can type faster with the on screen keyboard then I can with the actual keyboard as well. It's all really personal preference but I seriously would have yours checked out if it is off that much because that doesn't sound normal from any of the devices that I have used on Android and I've used from Android 1.1 to now 4.0 and none of them have been that far off.

As others have said, you might want to get the phone checked out - or at least have another android user try it out. I don't think you'll ever prefer touch to a real keyboard but it shouldn't be as bad as you're experiencing.

Also with the other keyboards, make sure to look through settings. Many have calibrations you can do as well as other features to improve accuracy. If you're trying smart keyboard pro check out the compact qwerty in portrait mode - that might give you better results.

My galaxy note has been looked at and no issues hardware wise .... Im so used to a physical keyboard....once the new bb10 comes out gonna re-evaluate and maybe go back to a blackberry device with keyboard. The inaccuracy of touch screen typing is NOT a key selling point for me.

Its such a waste of time to constantly go backspace to correct words. Such a joke!

And im getting email repeats from like a year ago....im now not convinced that the performance is any better. Android is a play phone unsuitable for business use.

Try Hackers keyboard and A.I. Type keyboard they both have advantages that you might like. 5th row etc.

Btw, I've always hated the mouseboard on Bb's, they had their day, but it's gone now.
