Still having some minor intermittent data issues. But when it works, its still nice and fast.

I'm not sure whether to take this is a good sign, or what, but my connection has become noticeably less erratic. The downside is that I'm now getting fairly horrible speeds. DL- 150kbps UL- 1000kbps. Whereas before I'd get an easy 3000kbps down.
The dreaded 150Kbps. Might need to call and get your data refreshed. The 150Kbps is throttled speeds everyone who has been throttled including myself experiences which normal upload speeds.

You get what u pay for. If u get service at a reduced cost then u can't complain. If u want to complain then paid full price. On a post paid account.

Been in daily contact with ST's FB support for over a week. Got them to credit me for 5 free days for all the data issues I've had. I actually asked her to look into whether I somehow landed on the throttle list, in my email today. With the horrible connection I've had, there's absolutely no way I could be anywhere near their limit, whatever it may be.
Thank you for adding absolutely nothing of value. A discounted service is still a service. And whether or not it's cheaper than post-paid is moot. They're no less obligated to fulfill their end of the bargain than any other company.
WoW, I never thought of that before.
Envy? about not getting fleeced by the Big Two, that sir, is a wasted emotion.
and FYI, ATT contracts are for a discounted phone, i can afford to buy one, and get a better deal with crappy CS that suits my needs better.
Analogy, bought a home machine from amazon, walmart and amazon had the same price, target was charging 10$ more for the same machine, if the machine breaks down, and you bought it from walmart, would you say, "got what i paid for", and should have bought it from target. You are buying a service, you want to pay more for the ATT brandname, then feel free, but that doesnt make an MVNO any less useful, or unaccountable.
Well, true to form, she claimed that I wasn't being throttled, and that it "could be a network connection at this time only", whatever that means. So is there a certain number that I can call, about getting unthrottled, which is MORE likely to yield positive results than their other contact numbers?
I thought either 1) My iPhone 4S was going crazy (along with my dad's) or 2) I was going crazy with all of the failed connections and horrible data reliability.
Huh, now I can't even connect to the AT&T network...my phone automatically roams on Long Lines Wireless (a local provider here). Earlier today, AT&T wasn't even letting texts/calls go through, so at least now I can make calls/send and receive texts on my phone.

Calling in turned out to not be the best idea. Called their 855 number, and actually got a manager right off the bat. I explained the situation, and she told me that they have no way of filtering data speeds, so I must be experiencing network congestion issues. Kinda odd how it's been precisely the same degree of congestion all day long, and I'm getting a pretty constant 150-ish kbps DL.
She said that all she could do is reset my data connection, which she did. I shouldn't have even bothered calling in, and just left well enough alone. Now I'm not only still getting the very slow data, but I'm back to the same old erratic connection that I've had for the past 3+ weeks. Out of all of us that are getting screwed over, I must be exceptionally unlucky.
I did notice something fairly noteworthy. My connection seems to be fine when I have the SIM card in my E71, but it's junk when it's in my Infuse. Maybe that's just coincidental timing. Who knows, at this point.
you know when you take the simm out of the e71 and put it in another phone it is a violation of the tos.
Okay, but how can you be sure this will go away ? I've been a ST customer for 7 months on BYOP, and I've never seen ads for any MVNO on tv. Now Walmart is advertising ST and other MVNOs. Maybe this is their strategy ? Maybe the "Cadillac" of service would be regular post paid AT&T ....or to pick a service like ST with sporadic and unreliable data but with a cheaper price and no contract....any thoughts ?
