Motorola Q WM5 Texting Issue Please help!

Hi I recently activated a refurbished motorola q (until iPhone 5 comes out) and I am having an issue in which texts from other carriers i.e AT&T, sprint, only show the first character of the text message. I am however able to receive full texts messages from verizon wireless subscribers. I am able to send text messages with out any problem to all parties. I contacted both verizon and motorola technical support and they basically pointed fingers at each other. Has any one else had this issue or know of a fix? Thanks for the help in advanced!

Do a prl update and that should work.

WOW! I'm having the same issue with my wife's phone. Now, txts coming from Google Voice seem to work fine but others are doing the same thing.

I just tried to do a PRL update and that didn't fix it. Still having the same issue.

Then update the phone and see if it works after being rebooted and updated.

I have already updated the phones software to the most recent version and tried but still having this problem

dial *228 and it will start your prl update . follow the prompts if that doesn't work I would take the phone back.

Ive also activated/updated the phone via *228 multiple times. sighhh no luck though

1. prl update 2. update via software 3 . hard reset 4. learn how to flash the phone those are all the ideas i had to use five years ago with that phone .

I think i flashed it already. it was stuck in the bootloader screen about a week ago and had to reset it.

then i would get q9m or q9c if you want to stay with that phone until iphone 5
