I've been noticing that my phones are showing 4g off and on the past 5 days. Is this a sign they will launch 4g here soon?
Back to my htc thunderbolt.
When will it be on full time? It keeps switching between 3g and 4g a lot and very seldom get full bars 4g.
Is there a coverage map that shows this level of detail?

it's like that everywhere. It goes 4G for a while then goes back to 3G. There hasn't been any announcement yet that is why I was asking.
The coverage map doesn't even show 4G yet.
It did that to me, then the next month it was launched.
Does it switch between 4G and 3G while outside too? I know when my market was launched in May 2012, it would drop in and out inside sometimes and act odd from time to time. But overall it didn't drop that much after 2-3 weeks. When they first launch they usually don't turn up the towers all the way and thus 4G LTE doesn't penetrate buildings well initially. I went to a new market the other day thats not announced and I found that the ping and upload speeds were kinda off.
Still going in and out of 4g here but still ONLY 3g at walmart in steubenville. Maybe they are testing towers one at a time?
I looked at the coverage map for both of those areas and they are both outside the extended coverage. So thats why 4G goes in and out a lot, its actually not supposed to go that far yet. With it being winter and the trees loosing their leaves and such the signal sometimes travels a bit further right now than other times of the year. Its not a big difference but I have noticed that during winter the signal will sometimes travel outside the extended areas for up to a mile or so.
I've been trying to get more detailed information about coverage from Verizon's web site but their web site is about worthless.
