They can, but I doubt 4G would work. I guess it's only 3G/2G.

Page Plus is basically thru Verizon's system.

How do you get the phone to not be recognized by the "system" as a 4G phone? What do you use for a 3G ESN? I would think if you used the IMEI number from the 4G LTE SIM card, it would be rejected.

There are a few tutorials out there and some information on it in the pageplus forums. There are many PagePlus thunderbolts out there

Personally it really wasn't worth it for me and I figured its much easier to get a 3G phone at this point and use that on PagePlus. Droid X, X2, Droid 3... you can find for as little as $100 in nice shape.

And 4G will not work until PagePlus gets sim cards and supports 4G... Which will need to happen, but could be a few years away. If/when Verizon goes VoLTE and shuts off 1X then they have no choice, right?

As far as I know, currently, there's no way to get LTE service on prepaid at all.

While they aren't phones, vzw sites offer LTE prepaid jetpacks. I wonder what a Sim swap would do

Data would most likely work, but I am sure they would deduct a per minute rate (most likely expensive) for calls, if it even worked at all.
