    Voicemail on tracfone LG800

Hello, I just activated my LG800.

I need to set up the vm. I looked online and saw a tutorial showing how to do it one the phone, by pressing one.

    1. Is there a way to set it up by calling from another phone?

    2. Once set up, how do I call to get the messages from another phone. I always did this with my previous Virgin Mobile phone to avoid using the minutes.

I have read through a couple of threads and even done a search but can not seem to find the answer.

Right now when you call my phone it only says the person you are calling has a vm that is not set up.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Praise God, ...... yes indeed!

See if the two sets of instructions below my comments help.

I would just go ahead and setup your voicemail from your cell phone - just do the bar minimum (pick your pin, etc) to save minutes. Don't bother recording your greeting - you can do that via landline once you've done the basic setup.

I like to turn my phone off (or put it in flight mode), so it won't ring when I call my number to check/setup vm via another phone.

    ==========
LG800g VM instructions from Tracfone.com. You can just call your cell from another phone to check messages, or continue voice mail setup once you have a vm pin created.

    VOICE MAIL INSTRUCTIONS

Items in RED should be entered on your wireless phone.

    Voice Mail Setup
On your mobile phone, press and hold the "1" key until the phone calls your voice mailbox. Follow the instructions for setting up your voice mailbox.
If pressing the number 1 does not work, dial your 10 digit phone number, then follow the instructions given by your phone.

    Voice Mail Retrieval
On your mobile phone, press and hold the "1" key until the phone calls your voice mailbox. Enter your pass code and follow the instructions.
If pressing the number 1 does not work, dial your 10 digit phone number, then follow the instructions given by your phone.

    To Change Voicemail Password
On your mobile phone, press and hold the "1" key until your phone calls the voicemail box. (If pressing the number 1 does not work, dial your 10 digit phone number.) Press the number "4" to access the personal Options menu. Press the number "2" to access the Administrative Options menu. Press the number "1" to access the Password Options menu. Press the number "1" to change your password. Enter your new password (4 digits) and press the "#" key which is under the number 9.

I have a new LG800 on Tracfone service. When I dial voicemail (by holding down 1) I am told to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. the problem is, the keyboard has disappeared when voicemail answers. How can I use voicemail without the keyboard?

At anytime during the call that the screen is locked: press the on/off button at the top of the phone momentarily; and then tap dialpad at the bottom of the screen.

I don't mean to resurrect what I pretty much assume to be a dead thread...but I was wondering if anyone knew with the password change/reset thing...does it deletes the voicemails that are in the inbox? Thank you.

If customer service resets the voicemail, then everything starts over. Like cleaning when you are giving the phone to someone.

If you just want to do a routine password change, which is do-it-yourself, then that is all that changes.

    I believe this is accurate.

Thank you, I hope it doesn't. mine is acting up and I'm hoping to make it work, but I have a voicemail that I need to hear on it since it's probably important...

    Thank you
