I have test today ... and i prefer skype for the sound quality ... but for 5 cents on many on many destination and not need to use my data ... is not a bad deal !
And just after you have make a call ... you see the charge on your account details via telus mobility ... in the data section :
07:01:13 1 event telehop_purchase 0,35
Just like data ... i like this because you can see instant the charge ... don't need to wait your bill !
This service don't work with CDMA ... only on HSPA side !

might have spoken too soon...
i still need to predial #100 and wait for dial tone... so this is no different than dialing a local access number, except i don't have to remember which one to dial depending on what city i'm near (but it's not like i have to remember them anyways since i would just save them on my phone)
they do integrate the billing so it's all on your telus bill but that convenience isn't worth 2x the rates... as cheap as 5c per minute sounds, it's still more than 2x what I normally pay to dial overseas...
no network / admin / access fees... not sure who's actually paying these phantom fees but i haven't paid any of these for at least a decade for long distance.
not a bad move but still got room for improvement...
as far as i know, fido offers 1+ dialing from yak right on the cell phone.
Why don't they just do the same thing as they do on Koodo which if you pay $2/month you get $0.05 / minute to many European and Asian countries and decent rates to many others too: http://help.koodomobile.com/coverage.../long-distance
