Activated a Samsung Restore on the $25 plan, worked great. Not sure if I'll keep it or switch it to the PayLo plan but I just wanted to try and it worked. Also worked on my gf's old Samsung Mantra.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

Add the Kyocera s2300 ("Loft") to the list - I checked on my daughter's account, and the $25 plan is available for that phone too.

I love the fact that the working list outnumbers the non working. Its kind of obvious the TOP phones aren't working but then again, they weren't even on the VM roster when the original 25 dollar plan was around so why cry over milk when it's not even spilled? I say, be happy it's back! I certainly am! Even with the throttle!

Yeah when I got my elite I regretted so much because the htc one v with android 4.0, bigger screen resolution and good camera came out after 15 days. I felt like smashing my Elite. Until 3 days ago, I found out elite is able to switch to 25 dollar plan whereas one v has to stick with 35 dollar plan. Now, I feel so good and will never forget the phrase "Whatever happens, it happens for good".
Contracts ?? Ain't nobody got time for that !

I wonder if I can get a replacement Elite on my account now. I have one that overheats only when in 3g, didn't replace it cause CSR said I would need to switch to $35 plan. Way past the 90 days but I wonder if the warranty will be honored.

You'd have to swap it out, activate it on the $35 plan then switch back to the $25 plan. Not sure how much time you have to do it.

My old VM Elite got REALLY hot on 3G too. I returned it. My Sprint branded Elite on Ting doesn't get hot at all.

Sent from my Galaxy S II

Yea you can do that, but your "new" elite is going to do the same... How good of a reception you got where you live??? If it's horrible, then your 3G will make your phone pretty hot because it will use more battery and resources to mainain a signal... I just don't get why people still use 3G,,, anywhere you go has WIFI. USE THATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT T,

3G is shotty anyway, wifi is the way to go,,, doesn't make phone hot or use extra battery. Just think about it, to get a 3G internet your phone has to constantly send/receive packets OVER THE AIR TO THE CLOSEST TOWER WHICH CAN BE MILES AWAY, compared to wifi which is only 20 feet away max.

Common sense people, your phone is not broke, because if you continuously use 3g your phone WILL overheat, doesn't matter if it is new or not.

If there is wifi available, nobody wants to use sprint's painfully slow dialup 3g. We are talking about when there is no wifi available.

Elite does get really hot when on 3g. Once, I was listening to online radio on 3g, battery was down to 15 percent from 95% within 2 hours. Most of the battery was used for heat. So, replacing the phone will get you the same phone which overheats. I suggest you try other models, like Reverb, Kyocera or Triumph. Motorola phones have really good antennas.
