What I would like to know is how easy is it to unlock the iphone 4s from VM in case you want to move to another carrier.
You cannot. More information here...

Contracts ?? Ain't nobody got time for that !
You could technically use a sprint or verizon/cdma iphone if you can clone the esn of a virgin mobile phone. But there has not been a way released into the general public yet. Not even the Chinese have it figured out yet.
I remember a long time ago someone got them to accept a verizon iphone's esn onto thier system but i think they got super lucky. Def not happening now since they sell the iphone lol.
Virgin is CDMA, and part of Sprint. VM phones only work on VM. As for GSM they can be unlocked and put on Tmobile or ATT or any carrier around the world. Better to buy unlocked from Apple, and be able to use it on any carrier. Even if the 4S does have a sim, the phone is CDMA and its not using the sim in any way. So no.

Had Unlimited Data on Verizon. Now on 6GB share plan(not a real biggie).
You can buy a Refurbished VM phone (Most models except the iPhone) from Virgin Mobile through the Account Suspension method (in case of Loss, Theft, etc.). They usually sell them with at a substantial discount to encourage subscribers to stay with Virgin Mobile instead of moving to another prepaid provider.![]()
Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.
Can I still use an unlocked iphone with T-Mobile's $19.99 data plan for BB?
