http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...902952754.htmlApple Inc.’s next iPhone will work on the fastest wireless networks around the world—including in the U.S., Europe and Asia—though it is unlikely to be available on every carrier, people familiar with the matter said.
The technical compatibility with so-called LTE networks removes a competitive danger for Apple and gives carriers a chance to sell their fastest data services to Apple’s base of iPhone customer

Great news! Now Metro needs to work with Apple to support their LTE bands and, of course, on bearable pricing.

I understand gsm unlocked working on tmobile but how will this work on cdma?
lmao apple is having a hard time trying to get lte on their new devices, no one told them to be messing with a wasp nest!!!
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iphone_4sAll iphone 4S support both CDMA and GSM in the same phone so if it works the same way it will support LTE, GSM, CDMA all in the same phone. The iPhone 4S can support a maximum theoretical download speed of up to 14.4 Mbps with HSDPA+. As a result of an upgraded radio chip inside the phone, in addition to being a world phone, so both CDMA and GSM customers can roam internationally on GSM networks.[39] It also supports Bluetooth 4.0.[6]
I don't think you understood my question, i know the 4s is both cdma and gsm, how ever that doesn't mean you get to go buy a 4s from the apple store an turn it on with metro but you can buy it and unlock it and pop a sim from a gsm carrier and just go, and there are cdma/lte phones for example a droid charge that if(without going into the politics of it) flash it to metro you still wouldn't get LTE you would just have a droid charge running on metro's network.
Metro stated that if it was compatible with the network they would fully unlock it.
the verizon version isnt gsm so in conclusion its flashable to metro and has been done already just aslong its cdma u can get it flashed to metro now 4g lte lol wont ever work.
Honestly I have my doubts, although I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. The biggest problem is that so far there are no standard LTE bands. So its not an easy thing to get an "umbrella" LTE modem that would cover all of these bands that are popping up.
Will the iPhone 3GS Work on the 4G Network?
