LG 840G- Setting up E mail

I'm still working through this new phone.

Has anyone been able to make the E Mail set-up function as described in pages 52-55 of the User Manual actually work? I cannot make it do what the instructions say it will??????

Trouble with setting up yahoo mail

I am having trouble with setting up the yahoo mail account. I tried to set up two accounts by just putting in the email address and password and it failed for both of them. I get an error message. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Okay, I can send an email from the yahoo mail account but the phone will not download emails from the yahoo mail account. Is something incorrect in the settings? I just used the default (i.e. I only entered my email and password). Also, how frequently the phone sync email messages? Is it automatic or manual? Thanks!

I had the same problem toward the last.....could send, but not receive. Just kept working with it. I deleted
the settings out, and recycled the phone a couple of times, and finally it loaded properly.

I think you are probably doing nothing wrong, just Yahoo. If you Google "Yahoo mail to Smartphone Problems" , you will see that many people are having about the same issues. My other mail
accounts, (Google and AIM) came up right away the first time.

    Keep working with it.

unless they changed, yahoo doesn't allow mail download unless you go with the premium mail.

There's a configuration setting for Yahoo!Mail to allow POP3. It was limited to Plus accounts only in the past. That may have changed, but the setting would still need to be active.

Try using a email tool on a PC (like Mozilla Thunderbird) and see if it works.
If it doesn't work on the PC, then it's not the phone's fault.

There are workarounds to the Plus account requirement as well.

When first beginning to set up, at the very beginning, I get a pop up message that a connecion to yahoo is unavailable. I was wondering if only a browser connection can be used?
